The answer would be complicated.
NieR 1 is a bad game. Flatly, the controls suck, the combat is slow and clunky, and there's an unfathomable amount of grinding. However, it has strong characters, a plot that is rich when you look past its first layer and get all the details, and the music is indeed phenomenal.

So it really depends on how much of a poor game you can stomach to experience an excellent interactive novel.

Nowadays I just do expeditions. There's an A rank that gives 6 mini burst post, an S rank that gives a burst pot, and the 120 relic reward every other week gives a king burst pot.
They're piling up so fast I can max out anyone's LB but have nobody worthwhile to.

Also there's a LB farming method using 4 Jack's TM or that moogle's spear, I don't know. Never bothered doing that shit.

I just beat my first U++! Was a retard and brought shout instead of wall, Locke died near the beginning while all three sisters were still alive. Ran out of shout RW juice right when I got to Sandy, that really made the fight drag on since Galuf was just doing 3k x4 with his burst command. Completely ran out of dance uses and down to my last 3 casts of curaja too. Didn't think I could make it but glad I tried! Mastered too 1 medal loss for actions and 2 for damage

dervish is one of the easiest ones of the "second half", thanks to interrupt vulnerability. if you have more characters that would benefit using omega drive, go with that. could always wait and horde if you want too, that's an option some players go with

The way I understand it is that the top 2 characters can't hit the bottom orb, and vice versa with the bottom 2. So yeah the arrangement I had is right. But when a character from the top like Agrias uses her BSB it hits everything on entry and then the bottom orb does a counter. So my option is either not to use SBs in which case I can't stack holy imperil or really do any damage to him, or to try and use SBs and deal with the counters (which has got me close but not close enough). Either way its just phase 2 so I probably wouldn't have enough left by the time that's done to do phase 3 anyways.

You know we bullied Lunera a lot but she's actually insanely useful for long fights like Aigaion. I managed to set up a heal/reraise loop with her that lets me just hit repeat a zillion times until both arms die. No risk whatsoever.

Very few characters are unusable in RK, I could probably count them on one hand. Theres two ways to make a character viable, with relics or with skills. Relics are gained from premium curency or paid with real money. Skills are the f2p approach where you spend time grinding materials to make them. The thing is, DeNA, the company that controls the game, is very generous with premium currency, so it's not hard to build up a good team

Thanks for the help anons, managed to dump on him after figuring out some more stuff I could exploit. Just got Jecht's SSB from the rikku event and didn't realize it had shout buff on it so I brought that instead of shout RW and then RW guardian mog for last stand. And changed the healer from eiko crit to sarah's magic wall. And then just let kain show the boss what it feels like to be eternally cucked in phase 3

How are you guys getting enough LB crystals in the Aigaion fight? It took my like 6 or so turns of chaining on the main body to break the 70% threshold but I didn't have anywhere near enough limit to use Rikku's. I have her with Overide but that's all for the +limit. Should I be stacking +% limit on her more seriously? I thought it had diminishing returns.

Essentially. Yoko Taro's got a neat setting and is good with characters, but Cavia, the game studio that made Drakengard 1 and 2 and NieR, simply weren't actually that good at making games. Past tense, as Cavia disbanded in 2010.
Drakengard 3 was made by Access Games, something of a hit-or-miss company, and NieR: Automata was made by PlatinumGames, who are now regarded as pretty top-quality for game design.

If you have a Zargabaath you can berserk the body and avoid having to kill the arms a zillion times. You need to be prepare against physical though, because he hits hard and often if he's zerked.

No, abilities stay the same all that changes is the number of usage. Lifesiphon gives you 30% of a bar. Wrath gives you 36% but only for people that can use Support 4*. Using lifesiphon, you would need to cast it 4x to get a bar (1.2 bars). For comparison, most skills give 13% and attack gives 10%, meaning you need to use 8 skills or 10 Attacks to get an SB bar. If lifesiphon is too slow you can use the Battleforged or Ace Striker RM, giving 50% more SB for Attack and skills you use. Meaning lifesiphon gives 45% each time. You also get 10% SB bar every time you get damaged by the boss.

I quit early on the CUI banner after pulling a dupe Rem that made me think about the game as a whole and the enjoyment i was getting out of it.
Basically, the game became a chore to play and I didn't like many of the units you basically have to use.
Sure, not getting icetits or Gil sucked, but that wasn't the deciding factor. I was enough of a luckshitter that it would have been extra dumb of me to stop over that.

She has 50% more damage then him but that's about it. The thing about two chainers is that elemental chains do way more damage than just spark chains and she only has thunder. If you get two 2bs she's more workable because you can optimize both of them but having two onion knights is better because his tmr gives him a 520% 16 hit attack.

But that's fine, A unit's final potential is what should be taken into account when comparing them, not their current limit (unless only comparing current content, which is fine). Aileen only truly becomes Aileen after all the pieces fit in place, she's good now yeah, but she isn't at her max yet.
Same for things like Lunera. She's okay now, but enhancements bring out the real Lunera and you'll be glad to have her, same for Ramza, Cid, etc.

You lack an understanding for the way BE calculates damage. Your attack stat can be bigger without changing your damage output.
Each hand is calculated separately, despite the cosmetic attack stat being one number.

Most of the visual benefit from fistlandu comes from the fist itself being way stronger than genji blade. That means only one of his hands actually benefits from most of the increase, while the body itself takes a sizeable hit to ATK.
In the end, it's slightly weaker before accounting for chaining, and likely no better than equal despite being a huge increase in number.

In XII, if you set a buff to an "ally: any" gambit, will the buff be used when all allies already have it? Same for enemies and debuffs.

Final Fantasy 3 is giving me anxiety. I hate unlocking more jobs, because it gives me the constant nagging feeling that whatever jobs I've picked are sub-optimal and will make me too underpowered to progress later on. At the same time, I don't want to experiment with new jobs. It's way too hard to tell whether a job is actually useful because:

1. The job-change fatigue means you won't be at full fighting strength for like 8 battles.
2. Gearing up the new job is really expensive.
3. The new job starts at Job Level 1, and I have no sense of how much the Job Level affects performance. I can't tell whether the new job will surpass the old one in power by the time it catches up in level.

Try to focus on just a few jobs then, don't bother to try and level all of them. It's true that if you stick to a few then it's going to be much easier for you. I'd say if it's your first play through just run the normal jobs like Warrior/WM/BM/RM and then swap in classes like Dragoon and Dark Knight mid game and end off with Magus/Devout/Sage/Ninja. That's usually what I do.

Do that for your first play through and if you feel like playing it again and have a feel for the game, you can try experimenting more for a challenge.

Her hits are too far apart to Spark Chain and if you get a bad timing you won't even chain at all (if you're randomly pressing with no sense of timing, it's about 50:50).

But even if you can reliably chain (which shouldn't be that hard), 5 hit base is not enough to build up a good chain without spark chaining.
