Funny enough, I always thought that persona starting with 3 was less a game and more an slightly interactive anime. The new trilogy is anime as fuck and embraces cliches of school themed anime rather than trying to be a legit game.

At the very least, I hope that no matter how deep digimon goes with completely evil beings that aren't digimon and human characters being more prominent, they never go the persona way of trivializing the consequences of battles by removing the enemies AKA demons/digimon from the equation and replacing them with creatures nobody cares about murdering till extinction like the shadows and the miscellaneous non digimon entities and having too much human involvement.

There are a few things that makes me think they do it on purpose.
Of all the crossovers Bandai Namco has done, in their own games or another ones, Digimon is always left, no matter what. Besides Digimon never have had collaboration of any kind, so it looks like they want to isolate the franchise to die alone.
Fans had to make a massive petition to localize the games, and after a lot of signatures and time, they released some unrelated game nobody asked. It bombed. Then, they released Cyber Sleuth, but not Re:Digitize (the game that was supposed to be the petition). Also, they never localized the Adventure game (that bombed, as well).
The games were hit or miss. Cyber Sleuth became more popular because it was outsourced and the game they did in house was made by a B (or C) team that released a bugged mess and they had to launch it again.

And, about the Xros Wars era, it did a lot of things better than the Appmon era.
The Xros Loader is 10 times better than the Appli Drive. They had to release another Appli Drive to compensate the very basic first one, even when the Duo is not that of an improvement.
Xros Wars era had The V-Pet Mini, but those were kind of niche.
The manga was not finished before the anime, unlike the Appmon manga.

The other things were always done, so I don't think they are a factor, for example, the Digimon Memorial festivals were made every year, the musicals as well.

They only thing they are doing better this time is the Adventure marketing, but that's still the cash cow.

I don't think you understand how this works. Whether you think the Xros Loader is better or not, it sold like ass.
It's the worst selling digivice-style toy in the franchise. That's why it didn't get an updated re-release later in the line. They don't create things like the Applidrive DUO to make up for the first one, they do it to supplant the first one. If the Applidrive did poorly, the DUO wouldn't exist. It's like the Ultimate D-Arc, D-Scanner, and Digivice Burst.

Compare that to Xros Wars, which not only didn't have a second Digivice version, it cancelled toys as early as the second cour, its card game floundered and stopped support as soon as the second series was done, and it had no toys at all for Death Generals and Hunters.

XW is a failure by every single metric, and Appmon is miles ahead of it simply by the fact it's stuff is continually supported.

As for everything else, you may not be aware of this, but Bandai of America is practically a different company from its Japanese counterpart. What they do over here has no bearing on what the brand is like in Japan or how healthy it is.

The Applimonster game is like one of a ton of kid oriented titles released at Christmas. It ultimately comes down to how much stake Bandai put in it and what their goals for it were.

We don't know the specific ratings, but like, here's something to remember. XWs second part not only changed timeslot to a worse one, it was changed to another fucking CHANNEL, with little promotion. Meanwhile, Appmon moved to a better timeslot on the same channel.

It doesn't have to be in the top 10 to be doing okay. That's kind of unrealistic.

Humans are genetically programmed to NOT find their siblings attractive, no matter how cute they are. It even extends to people we grew up with, like very close childhood friends.

This is because all the individuals that didn't have these anti-incest genes eventually had deformed babies after several generations, their lineage died out and they fell out of the genepool. This happened long before humans could even write or use language.

Some people are more resistent to nature, so to speak. That's why we have people attracted to biologically nonsensical things like kids (can't breed), animals (not compatible), same sex (can't breed), etc. I can't speak for furries and zoophiles, since I don't understand what the fuck they see in animals. But in the case of kids, for example, a person could be attracted to their sweetness and innocence. That person would find them so cute and adorable that they fall in love with them. And since lolis are still humans with butts, vaginas and a personality, they can be attractive even though it makes no biological sense. In the case of gays, they find the male body more attractive than the female one. Again, it makes no sense. But we are intelligent animals. We aren't entirely driven by instincts, we can develop fetishes and find certain things erotic or attractive even if it serves no purpose when it comes to reproduction.

Personally, I think cousins are better. They are a perfect mix between "stranger" and "family member". A cousin is basically a normal girl unrelated to you, like a random classmate. What are some digimon whose "-mon" means something else? I can only think of Vamdemon. He's a vampire demon monster. The "-mon" still means monster, but it also turns the meaningless "de" into "demon".

In the actual show, we never see WereGarurumon evolving directly to MetalGarurumon. It makes no sense for him to walk on four legs again.

MetalGreymon never evolves to WarGreymon. Agumon does, dropping all the cyborg shit and turning into a lizard man with armor.

Tailmon is a cat. A beast. She can evolve into Angewomon because of the holy ring, but she's a beast. It makes sense for her to warp digivolve from her base feline form to a holy dragon. Angewomon is not supposed to be Holydramon's previous form, of course it doesn't fit with the line. It's not supposed to.

Same with this one. Gomamon's warp shinka should result in Plesiomon. I don't even like that thing, but it fits better than Vikemon.

The only one the PSP game did well was Hououmon. It drops all the traits of Garudamon, since it's not supposed to evolve from it. Instead, it's an evolution of Piyomon that incorporates a few traits from the forms in between.

In the Adventure universe, the ultimate forms of the chosen children's digimon can't be reached normally. They need to gather energy and JUMP directly from their true base form (champion in the case of Tailmon) in order to reach it. Their higher forms are unstable, temporary and don't even fit with the ultimates in terms of design. They are not supposed to.
