Honestly, I think fishing leves made fishing hard and more frustrating. I did GC daily and sea lamps til 68 then those koromo octopus and Daio Squid for collectible.

Just hit lvl 60 Botanist what gear should I be going for right now

Before release: "fewer than 100 people will clear T5" (i.e. raid content will be hard)
T5 wasn't that hard once twister is fixed. Hell, my FC had ~20 people that cleared it the lockout of the patch or the next one (mostly because you couldn't re-enter to clear for anyone that got benched)
The rest of coil is around the same or easier.

People complain that it is too hard and they put out savage coil as a cheap way to make harder content for the people that want it.

Next normal modes are easy. Savage tier has 20%+ clear percent of max level characters. They let people re-enter raids so it is a lot easier to teach people the raids or even sell carries which effectively makes them easier as well.

People that can't clear savage still complain about it being too hard.

Latest savage comes out and gets cleared the first day and people are cheering that it is great that content isn't for the top 1% anymore (except it never has been actually that hard). There are plans for super savage so they are at least pretending to make hard content still.

I can't wait for 6 months from now when people are complaining both savage and super savage are still too hard and they end up making the next tiers even easier.

I think it all started 3 or 4 years ago, doc.

All the cool kids were doing it. I just wanted to fit in, but I was a shy little guy back then, so I couldn't just come right out and avatarfag like everyone else. So I went over to Mor Dhona and purchased some recycled coke cans in exchange of some tomes I picked up in Castrum Meridanium and wrapped myself in it before posting an avatar. It was fun. I got a little bit of (You)s, and they were nice and all, but mostly I enjoyed having a laugh with the anons that gave them. It went on for about two months, and they were great, but I had to leave for about two years or so.

Fast forward two years, I found myself at /xivg/'s doorstep once more, and I just had to do it again. It was always fun. I'd masquerade as an idiot clad in tin, have some laughs with the anons, get some (You)s, then come home to my little stall in Quarrymill. Looking back at it now, I can't really tell just how and when it went all wrong.

It started being less and less about having laughs and more and more about collecting my share of (You)s. I guess the (You)s got me through some pretty dark times. When I had nothing else, I always had (You)s, and I suppose that's what made me so dependent on them.

I just can't anymore, doc. I just always feel on edge when I don't get my dose of (You)s. I can't sleep, I can't concentrate, I can't sit still, and my head begins to pound. I start sweating all over and my chest tightens up. It's unbearable, doc.

I know I have problems, and I promise I'll work on them, but please, write me another prescription for (You)s.

You shit outta luck, 'cause that's the best way pre-50. Post-50 is Collectibles. Personally, I'd just wait for allowances to accumulate and fill provisions. But if you hate yourself, you can just gather with experience buffs for hours. 100 Allowances gets a Disciple of Land from lv1 to 50, and you'll want to only upgrade your armor every fifteen levels starting at 20.

BRD isn't about burst DPS though (your only decent source of 'burst' is damage buff+Barrage on Refulgent Arrow). Bard was, and so far as I understand, still is about dealing steady damage and being able to support rather than just nuke all day. Your songs are what can boost your damage rates though, so sometimes you might get 15 procs in a row for a song or almost none at all. Also, you hardly have to worry about 'maintaining' DoTs, since until you get Iron Jaws (which resets both your DoTs to max duration) there isn't exactly any incredibly demanding content anyway, so chill out. And both are extended to 30s each at 64 anyway.

>apply DoTs to all foes in combat, reapply (or Iron Jaws) as necessary.
>Song of your choice, pick another once it finishes
>Pre-68: pop Bloodletter, Empyreal Arrow, and/or Sidewinder whenever they're off CD
>60-70: Same, but Emp Arrow gives a proc to whichever song you have up so keep that in mind
If all of the above are either taken care of or on CD, use Heavy Shot til Straight Shot procs, do that, then repeat.

BRD is less of a 'rotation' and more of a checklist. DoTs are at the top, then your CDs/Songs, then your bread and butter shots when you have nothing else worth doing. Much more forgiving, and allows you to be more flexible in combat.

Managed to clear v1/v2 with my half-formed static + pugs. Did a few pulls of v3, seems pretty fun/complex. They definitely made the difficulty actually linearly scaled this time; v1 had almost no mechs, v2 had a few but mostly easy to handle, v3 looks to have some real mechanical involvement, and v4 looks crazy.

I know there was a MNK in the world first group. I was looking at his gear and it was pretty crazy shit. Pentamelded crafting gear of course. Which gave me a few idea on the crafts.
So I was wondering if MNKs would get better with the specific gear and meld? Most of his melds were like Skill Speed / Direct hit (since he was capped on Crit on all pieces prior to melding)
so I'm guessing Skill Speed is the best now, of course AFTER crit hit and direct hit?
