Even if Marvel picks the comic up, shit like that won't happen because Sega actually wants oversight now. A lot of people forget that everything in even the Archie comics was approved by people at Sega, dating at least as far back as the start of Ian's run. Yes, even all the OCs. So while a new comic would probably still have OCs and all that, it'd be similar to the post-reboot world where it's actually based on the games, Sonic is the lead character, and the game characters act more or less in character with a bit of wiggle room.

IDW has had other Sonic staffers work for them before and has a lot of licensed comics. Boom is known for paying roughly sweatshop levels of pay and is only good for publishing creator-owned stories so people can get their name out, like Hesse's Diesel.

I read the comics for at least 14 years. Ken Penders writing and characters became increasingly more boring as time went on. If Ian hadn't taken the reigns when he did, I probably would've dropped the comic out of the lack of interest.

After a while Ian took Geoffrey, one of Ken's boring characters, and had him become an apprentice to Ixis Naugus. Like a villain in training, and he started doing some crazy shit. It got me excited to see what would happen as his arc unfolded. Ian actually made Geoffrey interesting. But he was retconned shortly after due to all the lawsuit shit and we never got to really see what happened after his body became possessed by Naugus. It also sucks because Penders is planning to bring Geoffrey back in the shitty comic thing he's been working on and he'll just as bland and boring as he always used to be.

I've been kinda detached from the comics since they rubbed Geoffrey out of them. I'm mostly just disappointed right now because Mega Drive is the only branch of the comics that I love unconditionally, it was like kid me's dream Sonic comic. And we may never see the finale now.

TL;DR - every single comic they release is failing, selling a fraction of what they used too, and chock full of blatant SJW pushing. Racism (against whites) is blatant, the women look like men and the men look like women.

Every single female hero loves each other in a huge virtue signalling circlejerk. Your old white heroes? They're either washed up and self-admittedly stupid next to the young diverse replacements, or they get turned into straight-up nazi's.

Every single major Avenger has a black/asian/lesbian/islamic replacement now. There are no prominent white men left.

It's actually astounding to see the shit they've been doing lately.

Star Wars is overseeing by Lucasfilm still, so Marvel hasn't been able to ruin those comics completely, but they've still tried hard to push their diverse cast of side-characters as much as they can. Thankfully Luke Skywalker is still safe and pretty based.

Sonic going over to Marvel would NEVER work. Sega would have to impose tons of restrictions to stop Marvel from JUST-ing the comic. And Ian Flynn will never get work there because they stick within their shitty own circles, literally diversity-hiring from tumblr and twitter posters who dont read comics. Ian Flynn is a straight white male so he is automatically disqualified. They don't want any more of those at Marvel.

Absolutely, but this stems from the fact that these characters are being created and written for the sole purpose of replacing white characters and having diversity.

They do it at the expense of ruining white characters. And they don't even give enough of a shit to try and make the new characters likable.

Look at Squirrel Girl, Captain Marvel, America, or the black girl they have parading as Iron Man. Some of the most unlikable cunts to ever get their own comics, and yet these are the characters Marvel is pushing the most.

Probably. Ownership issues with the FF will mean that any publisher looking to pick up the IP will want to steer well clear of any potential legal landmines that could possibly happen down the line. Take a look at what happened today as a prime example - after the reboot everyone thought the comics were in the clear, until Fulop happened.

If the future publisher could set up an iron-clad means of using the characters without any potential lawsuits down the line, then absolutely yes. But then there's the issue of re-establishing the identities of those characters for a new audience, re-establishing their backstories.... I don't see it happening. Plus, with Sega mandates being as they are, I can see Sega taking the view of 'if they're not in-house, it's not happening'.

As much as a lot of people who loved the Archie comics loved those characters, there's so many difficulties involved with bringing them back that I don't see it happening. And, hell, this is coming from somebody that -wants- to see more of the Freedom Fighters cast.

I know people are blaming Penders, but in all honesty, Archie deserves every last ounce of blame for this shitfest. All they had to do was either not re-release the preboot issues, or just pay Fulop royalties.
