I just started Kyonyuu Fantasy. Read for like an hour, the screen transitioned to a new scene and it suddenly went dark. I can't save/load, there's no scenes, just text. I have already asked Moogy to point out some poorly translated lines and show what he would do better. When given the chance, he delivered something only slightly different than what Ixrec had, and all it did was prove that certain sentences have multiple meanings and translating those is hard. Please, I was a regular of Ixrec's forum, and when people from Moogy's circle would come and post all the translations error in Comyu and Rewrite in the error report threads, he'd just get very aggresive and say they're were "editing choices", even though they were clearly translation mistakes, then Sheeta would proceed to delete the posts and ban everyone.

Here's history as I remember it:

Moogy ran TLWiki. For awhile, it was a decent source of fan translations that came out relatively frequently. However, this site was later redirected to commercial use and partnerships. It stopped serving as a functional collaboration platform shortly after Little Buster's initial release. Most of the projects on TLwiki just died off or were C&D'd.

Just slightly before TLwiki died, Ixrec started producing translations really rapidly. This was during a time where the norm was to announce a translation show progress for 3-5 months and then drop it. In the time period we were used to seeing projects admit to being fraud, we actually got VNs delivered by Ixrec. During this time Moogy and Ixrec had at least cordial relations, though it was pretty obvious that Moogy was a worried that he would no longer be the big fish in a small pond.

Basically, the only significant sources of translations at the time were Ixrec and Witch Hunt. One-offs usually fell apart, but a few things were released. Majikoi was stuck in hell for like, years during this time.

Anyways, around then Moogy formed his "mean girls" clique to troll Ixrec's forums. >>183215959 , many of the translation "errors" were really just passive aggressive harping on style choices. There were a few that were correct, but most were just fake reports intended to be provocative or insulting. Obviously, Sheeta was upset with this state of affairs and went ban-happy. For my part, I just watched annoyed.

There were also a few people who understood neither ENG or JP trying to point out errors. It was a clusterfuck.

That's incredibly innacurate, Ixrec was part of TLwiki too, his first project Moon, was done with TLwiki, some of the staff at the time, including me, went with him went he decided to form his own group, and even so part of his staff like Nagato were still active TLwiki members.
And the Wiki was nowhere near dying when he was most active, they released SnK, G-Sen, Osadai, Symphonic Rain, YUNO and more.

I really disagree with you about TLWiki's level of activity during that time, I too was active in the community during all of this (Surprised all of you guys are here, actually). TLWiki was constantly not releasing things as the rights were getting bought out, I remember tons of projects that died, and in general, TLWiki had really stopped delivering from my perspective, at least during the release of Forest and Comyu, Amaterasu was one of the few real sources of VNTLs.

His version of the story also omits the really petty bullshit that was pulled with Dra-Koi. You have to admit that was extremely low and a much better demonstration of the real intent rather than some stupid cobbled together words. I do not even know why he bothered to post that obviously false answer, Moogy constantly talked shit about Ixrec on IRC and from my semi-outsider perspective, he was actively turning people against Ixrec.

Which is stupid. Ixrec was damn good and Amaterasu had a release cadence that stands unrivaled. As a whole, out of the entirety of his translations of hundreds of thousands of lines, the percent that had actual errors was phenomenally small and about equal to what I consider DI's translation to have in errors (there are clear segments done by a less skilled translator).

Moogy was also good when he translated and when he actually had public discourse on VNs rather than pulling all of it, for whatever idiotic reason. He had a great review of Cross Channel and that was pulled like 5 years ago. Now it seems everything is gone, so yeah, it's fair to say he's a bit of a dick. That does not make him unlikable, but it does make him a tool.

I've been off for a while, put the novel on hold after Marie's route disappointed me and I just read the epilogue. It was good, but I still felt like Kei's was better overall.
