It's irrelevant anyway, if a unit of grail knight isn't cycle charging constantly a simple unit of squires which cost half as much will deal much more damage. What triggers their arrival has changed a lot. When the game first released by turn 85 they were out and about. In my latest Brettonia play through, they didn't show up until turn 128. The arrival of Chaos IS the objective in and off itself. All the other objectives in the game can be done at the player's leisure. But defeating Chaos is the purpose of the solo campaign.

All factions must fight chaos or they'll just keep coming in mass.

Nobody. But Carthage is looking pretty damn imperial. My plan is to wheel around through Egypt and to prepare for war against the western barbaroi. Baktria can keep Persia for now. The big question though will be who to allow to keep their allied status and who to annex as outright territory of Makedon. Europa Barbarorum has it's system where a different form of government can be instituted in different cities, and so far I have most of Anatolia as allies and all my Thracian territories as allies as well.
