Better than 50-60. If you're on your first class, story will cover most of the EXP you need, an extra dungeon run here or there or a few quests will cover the remainder. If it's your 2nd, Dungeons actual give great exp with Armory bonus, 3x runs of your current highest dungeon at 61-70 will get you a level.

Absolutely not. Armory bonus drops by 50%, which makes it actually give you less exp at 60 than it did at 59, and it stops scaling at 60. You're better off going with Dungeons, PvP, FATEs, or Questing.

You're going to have to figure that out based on what you intend to do end game. Raiding? Look at the price of maybe 40 materia VI that you'd use and figure out how hard it would be for you to bankroll that.

Small feels a bit limiting with the low cap on outdoor furnishing but if you're living alone I suppose it gets the job done. Get to grinding so you can at least afford a medium of you wanted to. Once you break 20m you can start making risky plays and watch your gil skyrocket.

Should I get Stormblood or Morrowind? I'm having a real dilemma...

So I might be an idiot here, but I need to know.

The way I was taught to WAR was that as long as you're not losing aggro, you should always be in deliverance. This goes for all content, and if you ever switch to defiance you are losing DPS and are playing WAR bad.

So when I started tanking Susano EX, my strategy was to quickly grab some hate with Defiance, then move on to Deliverance and stay in that stance for the entire fight. I've managed to get at least 15 clears like this, but certain groups I find myself occasionally dying to phase 2 auto-attacks without at least 1 cooldown up during them. This has occasionally resulted in me trying to take Stormsplitter with Thrill + RI in Deliverance and getting killed.

So when I kept hearing people talking about how easy the fight is, and how they're doing it with slaying accessories, I went to take a look at some WAR POV videos on youtube to figure out how people are timing their cooldowns, and found that all of them are in Defiance full time while tanking.

So I need to know, what am I actually supposed to be doing? Who is in the wrong here? Is it the healers' fault for letting me die to auto-attacks? Am I wrong for staying in Deliverance for 99% of the fight? Are the people making the videos wrong for not tanking in deliverance? Or do I need to get good and figure out how to manage cooldowns better?

I think it largely depends on what you're looking for. If you've already invested quite a bit of time into XIV (as in, finished up to HW), then sure, why not. But that's also assuming you even still like XIV.

I got Morrowind last month because my friends talked me into it, and while I enjoyed the game a lot, I've never been a fan of TES and the allure wore off -- largely due to my getting back into XIV.

That said, I haven't reached 70 yet and don't know what all there is to do yet. I'm just having fun playing catch-up and leveling new jobs.

You might also want to just flat-out consider what kind of time you have to devote to an MMO, who you're playing with, and what you want out of an MMO.

You're correct. You don't want to be in defiance unless you have to be. Holmgang the first splitter. If you're with a Paladin have him Hallowed Ground the next splitter and keep tanking until the 3rd. That is literally the number FFXI's population stabilized at for like 5 years. I thought this game was doing wildly better than FFXI, but when you get the real numbers it's mostly the same old players.

im thinking of going back to wow after this raid tier. its kind of ridiculous that they only release 4 raid bosses every ~7-8 months. not to mention, the job designs in this game are among the worst ive seen in a trinity mmo. o well, it was fun while it lasted.

I think the main thing is the difference in game design. WoW is designed to keep people going on the hamster wheel because there's always another carrot being dangled in front of them. A new raid, a new mount, and a new story addition that's been slapped together to appease the lorefags. It's supposed to keep people playing and gearing up for the NEXT BIG THING but the vast majority of people will never actually get to do absolutely everything or get every piece of gear unless they no-life it. Since there's such a time sink for it, people are loathe to unsub.

XIV is designed with the casual player in mind, where it's okay to take a break or not unlock everything, because the story is available to everyone.

While I don't doubt that WoW's numbers ar emuch higher than FFXIV, they're also not as high as you probably think they are.

The fact that they stopped openly reporting the active subs just goes to show how much it's dying.

While square Enix have been opening new world to deal with conestion, Blizzard have been linking low pop servers to high pop ones so that the markets and raiding isn't dead.

I used to play on Wyrmrest Accord. After they stealth-merged a bunch of the other RP/RPPVP worlds and added in sharding to the capital cities, there was such an uproar from the roleplay community since you couldn't just walk around and roleplay, you had to do all sorts of weird shit like join another person's party and hope one of you got ripped into the other's shard where everyone else you were roleplaying with was. Well, okay, I get that. In my head I'm more comparing the two games at similar points in their lifespans. WoW two expansions in had fuckhuge enourmous numbers of players and even 'low' pop servers were crowded as hell. For a little while anyway, since the usual content drought set in once people hit the level cap and did a few raids, got bored, and unsubbed until the next major raid was added.
