Medica 2 is fine on large pulls, plus it helps to cover that one aoe your BLM or SAM is likely to not move out of.
However there is no reason for that WHM to be casting med 2 while the tank is that low.

The tank is about to fucking die, pulling a large pack, and you are halfway into casting medica 2. Thats not going to fucking help at all.

If a dps takes an aoe hit YOU DON'T HAVE TO FUCKING AOE HEAL AT ALL, WHAT THE FUCK. THEY AREN'T TAKING ANY IMMEDIATE DAMAGE WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU BE HEALING THEM AT ALL? THE NEXT TIME THEY GET HIT IS IN LIKE 40 SECONDS. YOU DON'T NEED TO HEAL THEM EVER.

So I suddenly became an officer in my FC since all the other ones are basically on hiatus. I've gotten absolutely no instruction about anything but I was asked to manage the airships. Problem is, I don't have a SINGLE CLUE how to do so. I don't know what I sectors I should be sending them out for or if SB even has newer upgrades or anything. Regardless, it is a matter of personal preference. Sure you don't need it every time but it is a safety net that is quick and easy to toss out. And you have certain dungeon pulls (half of Kugane Castle) where party members get targeted for large damage anyway.

4/10. Fights are almost all boring tank and spank slogs with too much HP for the random DF DPS you'll inevitably end up with. Delta V3 is the only fight that's actually interesting in Normal mode after the first run.

Ambiance and music is mediocre and enemy designs are more of the '2d sprites turned into overly colorful baloon inflated 3d models' we got with Crystal Tower.

SpS is only king in a vacuum. Any time you're interrupted SpS becomes worthless. Any time you have to stop casting to do a mechanic, fix someone else's mistake or you personally make a mistake (canceling a cast, etc) the benefit drops to 0. If you have 99% DPS uptime and run with a flawless group go for it, those are the only people who will benefit from it.

Full direct hit melds give you +11% mini crit chance, on the same gear as above without the SS melds you'll have 251 casts on 10 mins, that means 27 of those 251 hits will land direct hit and so land +690% dmg total (dmg equivalent to +7gcds). Considering +9 gcds do +900% dmg total spellspeed in general will have you do more damage.
Full crit melds give you +5% crit chance so on the same 10min fight (251 gcds) you should at least have 12 extra crits adding to +5 extra gcds.

Full det melds give you +3.22% dmg, aka if stone IV hits 250 everytime it will hit for 258 potency instead totalling +8 stone IV casts in a 10min (251 gcds) fight.

Really? Thanalan looks gorgeous to me. I always dislike desert areas in general but Thanalan is actually very scenic with lots of neat details.

The Fringes looks beautiful as you exit the Castrum, go through the forest and arrive at the river on the MSQ route but that's where it ends. If I meld all SpS onto my gear to get an extra 0.08s off my GCD of 2.48s, then over the course of 32 casts I will be one gcd ahead of someone without similar melds. If I don't get the 32nd cast off because a mechanic happens in that roughly 75s period, my net benefit from SpS becomes 0. If I have to miss a cast because of a mechanic with crit melds, that doesn't have the practical effect of zeroing out my crit-- it's not dependent on an external factor like number of casts.

When you play a healer during raid progression you're still figuring out how to heal things in many cases, even after you clear you optimize, or you change how you do things because you push a phase faster or something when people get some gear. There are people who have everything mastered after a couple weeks, they can meld whatever they want as far as I am concerned, they're better than I'll ever be. People may do mechanics differently too, you might have to take some debuff off someone or something during progression that will turn out to eventually be able to be left on the original target when everyone's in i340 gear. Telling average joe raider to meld SpS like he's gonna be doing 2200 DPS and casting 4 gcd heals per kill during the first two weeks of Savage is silly.
