Okay so, I modded my PS2 with FMCB foreeeeever ago. it still works, and I have a pretty good collection of games I played, mostly ripped from my own discs and shit, even.

only, now I want to rip some of my cd based games. ring of red, maximo, dmc1, and burn them to play copies.

How would I go about that on a DVD format? I would assume it's just the same patch with ESR then burn the image onto the DVD but I remember having to do something different for oni when I burned it a couples years ago.

Can I just extract a vpk and use the folder as is to install using MaiTool or do I need to make some changes? I'm asking because I'm trying to install a JP game from a Chinese source and would like the malicious code scan from MaiTool.

The compressed file is just split, either so it uploads/downloads quicker or to get around an upload size limitation, or just to get a bit more money from adfly. It'll end up giving you a .rar.part01 and .rar.part02 file (or something similar), along with the one for the dlc. Go to extract the part01 file, and you'll get a folder with the whole game cia in it. The dlc one will also have a cia in it. You can install both, game then dlc, and be on your way. You may want to change the region the game thinks it's playing on, though (especially if the dlc doesn't show up), either manually through a text file, or by using Luma Locale Switcher.

Haven't tested this out in ORAS since it probably works differently there, but I tried to look for the offsets that lock/unlock the Pokedex in XY through a hex editor. Found out that 0x15004 was the one that changes it.
The save I used started off with an offset of 86. After receiving the National Dex from Dexio, the offset changed to 87. Messing around with the offset changed it even more, sometimes removing a certain Kalos Dex while keeping the National Dex, or removing the National Dex and a Kalos Dex. It seems like the Central Kalos Dex can't be removed at all. However, this offset's not always set at around these numbers. One of my other saves has all 4 Pokedexes unlocked, and its offset is 5F instead of 87.

Changing which Pokedex you have unlocked probably isn't all that useful, but I thought it was interesting enough to check out. It might be good for those who want to use the Kalos dex for their PC/Summary instead of the National ordering.
