I no longer make as many dumb calls, I find myself beign aggressive and pressuring people instead of backing off when we both run dry, I've been using my Drone more, started to favor quicker operators instead of slower ones... just little things

Had you bought it at launch it was very easy to get all the DLC OP's

Once you have unlocked the base operators, it takes (roughly) about 40 hours of normal match making play time per DLC OP. This is a generous estimate. You can deliberately grind renown through other means with grinding parties (play Terrorist Hunt endlessly with 5 friends on one map on a certain mode / difficulty), however if you were going to do that, you'd be better off just spending the 20 dollars to buy the entire Year 1 Operator set, because instead of spending hours of "not playing" the game, you can work a real life job for 2 hours and have all eight of the Year 1 DLC

I would advise against buying the Season Pass, because you are paying up front for future content. You might not like Siege 6 months from now, and earning 25,000 Renown through play time (read: about 40 hours each) is not really a lot considering you only have to put in about 80 hours of play time every 3 months. You can also buy some op's ala carte if you are behind (One with in game currency, one with real money)

tldr:
Buy the base game, grind all the base operators
Buy the Year 1 DLC pack for all 8 characters after you are sure you like the game and have all the base OP's
Grind the Year 2 Operators

tighter spread for buck means smaller holes. you can offset this by stepping back but generally a laser isn't good for attackers unless you're a shield op. attackers are the ones who have to make their approach towards the defenders so having a laser exposes your position at a much higher rate than defenders with shotguns holding angles.

for buck it actually wouldn't be such a bad idea if you plan on tearing up ceilings/floors instead of walls, but it just adds another thing you have to consider about your crosshair placement.

The game is built around one shot kill headshots. Normally, having protection against them comes with massive drawbacks. Shield ops have to give up both their primary weapons and their pinpoint accuracy to get it. Blackbeard only loses a little bit of movement speed.

Even if his shield only blocked one bullet, he would still be picked in high level play, since surviving "only" one headshot is still way more than anyone else, and allows a good player to guaranteed win any face-to-face peeking situation.

Kinda feel this way about Jager and Valkyrie too. Both of their gadgets are so unique in function, there's just never a reason to not pick them if you're tryharding.

I don't think they should remove deployable cams and ADS, they're good mechanical additions, but having them restricted to one character just turns that character into a mandatory pick in most situations. Just make them universal gadgets, that might help push down the barbed wire spam too.

Also silencer on Glaz is golden. So many times I've shot open a hole and then killed someone on the other side because they either didn't hear me shoot open a hole or they didn't think it was a Glaz. Whenever I shoot with a non-silenced Glaz everyone just hits the floor.

It's particularly interesting that every defense operator, both vanilla ones and dlc additions, have voice lines for interacting with the hostage. Maybe ubi's had some new gamemode on the backburner since forever where defenders would need to move the hostage.
It's obviously not some early development thing that got canned completely, since even the new ops still have those lines. (There have been examples of those kinds of things, with certain vanilla ops, for example, having lines for using gadgets that their side doesn't have access to, but DLC ops no longer having those kinds of lines)
