Probably through or somewhere in the middle of chapter 2 if you don't give a fuck about 3 starring(which you probably should because of the rewards). Otherwise through chapter 1.
Running two formations becomes more or less required and there's a lot of korean-tier grind to the game for multiple aspects.

Just keep rolling cubes and finding boats you like, get them set up enough that you can press auto and have them survive to get through it all and then go back to manual control where finesse is involved and you actually make progress through the game.

Did you massively overgrind to absolute fuck or something? I mean, there's a few missions that spawn 9 or so ships in addition to the boss on top of the random difficulty spikes it throws in just to force grind/gear acquisition.
Either way, I've only got 7 ships in the level 70+ range, one low 60's and a few in the 50's area and chapter 6 has been absolutely kicking my ass, with missions being clearable but killing all+clear being a bit not impossible since I've been relying heavily on a z1+z28 formation to clear most ships, and that starts to be less effective due to heavy cruiser spam.

The buff is pretty silly with ranged weapons. It's best with pistols since you might still actually hit something as you switch targets.

Kokomi's main issue is that the skill attack is only one hit and doesn't hit a massive area. So it's not good for clearing waves even though that's what the buff is for. Still, I find it's stronger than some other affinity hit gun cards. I don't remember what Hinata's did that would've made her stand out.

Sadone is looking real nice in the anime and in her transformation card too for the game. Got a lot of cute Sadone screenshots this week.

I really like how it feels like her character has developed and advanced in the game from being the sad one to actually happy now and life slowly returning to her eyes. Her transformation card in the newest gacha does the highlights perfectly and puts some life in her usually dead eyes which was only reserved for her super happy moments or blushing moments but now she's able to make happier faces.

I hope we eventually get an option to have the anime version of Sadone in the game and completely return life and happiness to her eyes before the game terminates service.

I still don't think the anime made justice to Sadone's eyes. I'm not from dead-eyes-are-absolute church, but it looks like they just use one less highlight than others (that makes it the same as everyone in non-closeups) and rather than "default", they use it all the time. There were scenes in this week's episode like pic related, where she'd definitely go all sparkly if it was game art.

I wouldn't quite call it thinking, it requires your personal input, not autoing, but even then with no movement options and only 4 possible moves per girl it's still pretty simple.
The moves aren't even attached to a specific resource aside from cooldowns so cooldown management is really the only thing you have to think about it.

Again, I think it's fine for a mobage, but the game really shines in the amount of cute outfits and it's dedication to voicing every line, not the gameplay.

Summer event that's currently up is just some co-op stages for coins and fodder, and some daily gems. Swimsuits are unrelated and later on.

Individual costumes are temporarily in the shop, like blue shield Bronya before and dark moonlight Kiana now. The simple recolors I thought were only for those events too, but maybe they're permanent, dunno.

Bronya is a support character. Her shield version is great, just by having her in your party the rest of your characters get a shield that lets you nullify damage up to a certain amount. Ideally you focus on primary team until lv90, x5, and a secondary team until lv70, x4. Those 2 teams don't have to be minmax'd, use whoever you have. They can at least give you some space for moving in maps where you have to chase boss and defend base at same time.

But the new producer has 3 boxes of gacha capsules that they have the guests pull for rewards. There's 3* tickets and a 4* ticket in there but they keep pulling battle jelly and keys.
