Same way I feel. +spd/-hp 4* Raven was one of the earliest units I rolled and he was my go-to green for a long time. But he's just not good enough to justify promoting without already having a ton of feathers.

DB is only better on a +atk Raven. Swift Sparrow is debatable, but as someone who prefers static bonuses I'd take L&D over SS because it's easier to double you during the enemy phase if you're slower because you run Swift Sparrow and not L&D.

-Soren comes with watersweep, useful on neutral and +spd builds. Can also be built as a blade+ user. Generally useful middle-of-the-road green mage that needs alot of SI investment.
-Sonya comes with a fantastic prf tome centered around using specials+moonbow. Slightly better mage tank, but her lower speed does hurt use.

In terms of default skill sets, Sonya's is pretty great, as she has the perfect Special to go with her tome, Mirror Strike lets her combat enemy mages aside from reds, and Res Ploy can have its uses too. In terms of stats though, Sonya falls a bit short with less Spd, but she has more Res.

I don't think Soren's default skill set is too useful, especially considering he just comes with a generic tome with no effect, but he does have higher Spd and is the only unit with Watersweep, so there's that. I think in terms of SP investment, Sonya requires a bit less and can still hold her own, but the player just has to deal with the fact that she's not the fastest. But she also does have a pretty great unique tome. Meanwhile Soren does have higher Spd so that could help him use something like a -Blade tome a bit better.

People say +spd is better because it ensures more quads, which is where her power comes from. The simulation can't account for Tempest inflation or arena units with varied IVs, builds, and hones.
With +spd she has 37 base, 37 from LaD3 counteracting Dire Thunder, 47 (51) from Hone and Goad Cav (x2), and 48 (52) from spd+1. Well enough to quad anything that isn't running meme buffs of their own, and even then the AI isn't smart enough to use it.
Of course, with neutral spd and +atk, she still gets 45 (49) spd, so you could be worse off than +atk giving her 50s in atk. But having +spd is all about making sure she can quad.
