Synced means your levels and item levels are brought down to a reasonable tier for the content. Even if you're level 70 with item level 320 gear, it'll drop down to something that won't stomp Sastasha.

Unsynced means you retain your full power, and makes most things a cakewalk. Some of the turns in Bahamut will still utterly kick your ass if you don't know mechanics, though.

It's very old story heavy content. Start an undersized party (in the DF options) with a fellow 60+ friend. You may need more for unskippable mechanics.
Those raids were for like 60 ilevel with level 50 characters. You can solo and duo them while enjoying the cutscenes.

Not too many, like >>182569786 said. You can 2-3 man it at level 50-60 with good enough gear rather easily, with more people for certain ones/if you're not feeling confident in your chances. A small group in Augmented Ironworks gear at level 50 could probably do well enough.

If you're after the armor sets, you can actually buy dyeable versions of the Allagan stuff on the marketboard, though that's probably unfeasible if you're new and still don't have much money. An alternative is doing the Palace of the Dead a lot, since sacks can also give dyeable Allagan equipment. Just alternatives though.

Sorry, I'm a story whore. I noticed that doing certain side content in the game affects small dialogue stuff in the msq which I think is neat because most MMOs don't do that. So to cover my bases, I want to get the two main raids out of the way before I finish ARR.

Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of different bits of plot that assumes they took place at a certain point in the game's timeline. You will eventually end up doing quests that assume you haven't progressed as far in the story as you have. Additionally, the Coil has no connection to the current main story quest and is only meant as a conclusion to the old main story quest from 1.0.

The regular allagan are cheap as chips because they're frequent drops from regular Palace of the Dead. Crafted High Allagan is a little more expensive, and crafted Dreadwyrm is, too. If you provide the basic materials required, any crafter is usually happy to craft you the piece themselves, as long as they've ever spammed any of the coils and ended up with a supply of aetherstones for the pieces in question. Getting them crafted will always be cheaper than buying them off the marketboard, too

PotD drops Bronze Sacks from floors 1-50, and Iron Sacks from floors 51-100. IIRC you can only get them from Iron (I may be misremembering), but Allagan stuff is common enough as drops. I doubt you'll get a full set of what you want just from the Palace, but you can sell what you don't want to get money for what you do. PotD is super easy (and good for leveling), so it's mostly just a matter of patience.

How come you can't go inside any fucking buildings in any of the Stormblood zones? Laziness?
In ARR areas it feels like you can go inside almost every building. Literally the only interior I remember from Stormblood has been Yotsuyu's femdom inn at the fishing village, and surprise it's a cutscene exclusive thing.

So it wasn't until I started to finally tank that I noticed how lackluster astro is as a healer. Is it just bad because of the rng cards, or have I just partied with a bunch of shitters who think they're playing white mage spamming benefic II over and over?

I've started leveling all my other classes now that I've made it to HW content with my DPS, so I was wondering which healer would be the most rewarding and the easiest to start with.

I only play as a true ethical tank. I ready check before every pull because it is the ethical thing to do. I pull one pack at a time because exploiting the game in ways that clearly go against the design philosophy is unethical. I always remain in tank stance because I am an ethical tank who understand what my role actually is. I never push for big damage because it is unethical to to put healers on the spot. I delete every strength accessory I find because it is unethical to take advantage of developer oversights. I meld tenacity in every slot because it is the real tank stat.

I'm going through the trial as well. Fuck, I'm still on the character creation phase because I'm having trouble on that "perfect" look. I'm already dead set on male Roe because I just want to be the big buff guy, but do whatever you want. Hyur are human, Elezen are elf, Mi'qote are cat, Roegadyn are HUGE, and Lalafell are silly as a choice, but that isn't a bad thing.

If anything, just get your meme characters out of the way now before you get all serious if you decide to sub. It's an infinite time trial anyway, so try it all out before you decide.

All healers have the same level of difficulty for the task they're asked to perform. Same amount of gcds to manage and same amount of dps skills to manage (AST has less dps skills but they have cards to compensate).

The only day a healer is harder than another is when you throw a SCH into the main healer slot and tell it to main heal like a WHM or AST.
