Yeah, this was talked about a lot back when I used to follow dota. Here's some numbers from the Chinese sites compared to the western sites, forum activity, weibo following(chinese twitter), and the OB54 thread numbers. The game is nowhere near as popular in china as it is in the west, it pulling more than double the viewership there is definitely bullshit hell if it pulled the same amount of viewers as the western streams it'd still be suspicious.

They're messing up a lot of stuff to try and "fix" the essence problem. Unfortunately for everyone essence is a problem at its core, they really need to admit that essence was a mistake and just remove it.

They thought everything was fine after the little update due to the OB44 outrage, this is shown by them only doing the OB54 changes because of the recent increase in outcry about the essence system and these gold changes that you're talking about. If Hi-Rez themselves really thought that essence was a problem they would've just made changes to it without impacting anything else in the game, but instead we have them talking about this whole "give and take" thing because in their eyes everything was fine already and easing up on the essence system would tilt the scales too much in the players favor.

Essence will always be a problem, and Hi-Rez is going to keep making changes like the ones we saw after OB44 and in OB54. These changes will never fix the problem, instead they'll just compound it making it harder or downright impossible for Hi-Rez to one day just go "Essence was a mistake, we're going to remove it from the game and revert back to a two currency economy".

After spending about 50/50 time on Alacrity and Eminence builds, I can conclusively say that Eminence is shit and Pressence doesn't work with wrecker for massive damage. It really needs either a damage boost or a start scaling at closer ranges so I can get more damage outta it on top of being able to apply effects and proc off deployables.

Her damage legendary is really good when the enemy team has 2 flanks, Alacrity works well with any comp too, she's a cauterize machine with that, her sniping legendary is pretty shit unless you are DefNothanzo.
