OK don't hate me, I literally have stayed up 3 days straight before pvping on WoW when I was young, so I probably played more than you did.


I think now at 21 years of age that vanilla WoW is better than TBC. I hate the social element draenei and belves and paladins/shamans on each faction added. I think silvermoon is shit, and I don't give a fuck or know anything about the draenei areas. I feel like Corpsegrinder - if you've ever seen the video of him talking about WoW. Vanilla was where it was at.. Nost was perfect, though I never made it past like level 36 before rerolling. That's how WoW was at it's prime - much like Mike Tyson - compare his prime to Vanilla if you will. Private servers (good ones) only last a year or two it seems. I've only played pservers throughout my entire WoW career (minus free trials, etc early on) and I started in 2008 I believe.. till Cata. I've seen them come and go.

There'll probably be one for caster and one for melee - but I think it'll be a niche thing AND probably will get tuned as hotfixes comes out. I think there'll be an incentive to have 'buffer' classes in raids too, that just brings all the fucking buffs, so people can focus on having damage attacks.

Its gonna be somewhat anarchyish, but I think it'll work out in the long run. Here's hoping for 500-1000 pop.

ally has been seen as the more pve faction. this started in vanilla because paladins gave alliance a bit of an advantage in pve. horde were seen as the pve faction due to racials. this carried over slightly into tbc with the racials but with both factions having the same classes, it was much less pronounced.

historically horde has typically been the faction to get pve firsts. it doesnt matter at this point.. just play whatever you want.

There's not really any addons in TBC that stand out in functionality, only refinement. In vanilla the Discord addons were fucking incredible and unmatched in customization but there's nothing like that for TBC.

Unitframes - Pitbull or XPerl (xperl is fucking ugly tho), Grid for party and/or raid
Bars - Bongos or Bartender4
Meters - Recount for DPS, Omen for threat. Some guy is working on a more refined DPS meter called DPSMate
Questing and shit - QuestHelper + Cartographer or just grab Carbonite

and of course shit like OmniCC, DBM, Atlas, MSBT if you're into that, Prat

Of course you could just use none of them and roll with Default + Omen and ultimately do just as well as someone using addons.

I've finally decided that I'm going to go mage. I know they weren't spectacular in TBC but they had solid mid ground, and because of their status they'll probably be underplayed. It'll be nice being one of the only active 70 mages. Also, I'll be able to farm for and craft most of my own pre-Kara gear as a tailor.
Now to decide Alliance or Horde... Will it even be viable to raid as Alliance here? I have really weird hours (East Asian) so I wonder if a raid guild will even exist that I can join... I'd even be happy just providing food and portals and waiting outside for everyone, if that's what they want.

Guides say Thunderclap's threat is 1.75*damage, is there any extra threat from debuff application?

Tested damage on some mobs in mechanaar, seems to average about 150 damage, so ~262.5 threat per target seems to be about right. Devastate dealt about 90 damage first attack, so more or less ~500 threat for the initial devastate, and more for each successive one.

Seems like it's not worth throwing thunderclap into the multi-target rotation until 3 mobs, but at that point it's worth using off-cooldown prioritized behind shield slam and revenge.
Does that seem about right?

You won't be. Practice healing in dungeons while you're leveling up, so that way you can get a feel about how your healing works. As a priest, you're a pretty generic healer. Usually a normal heal with renew tacked on will be enough. Remember to not use PW:S on warriors or druids since they won't be able to generate rage. Remember to use FUCKING FADE.
