Picked up the FFXII remaster (didn't play the game on PS2 past the prologue cuz I didn't own a copy), now I'm on the part with the factory that used to extract oil and the sand people jump you, my characters are all between levels 12-15, is it normal that I'm getting my ass ground down from all the fighting and getting so little gil? And the hunts are just impossible (great wyvern, big turtle and cluckatrice). Should I just press L1 and grindan or am I doing something wrong?

The beauty of IZJS is that almost nothing is missable.
You have a surprising amount of freedom to explore the map, too. After the Dawn Shard, you can go basically anywhere you want.
There's like, a single sidequest you can miss that just gives out an easier reward for a pretty good lategame gun, but you can get the bazaar loot elsewhere anyway. And you have a huge gap of time to do it.

The only truly missable thing is something you have to steal (multiple times) from a very familiar friend, but you'll know it when you see it.

It's as good on your healer as it is on your DPS.

I only have 9 TMs, I just realized. That's a hell of a lot more than I thought I'd ever get if you asked me back at launch. But I prioritized orlandu, he's using all but 4 of them (most of which are dupes anyway)

But yeah, the difference between 960 ATK and 1017 ATK is huge for whales. The human eye sees the 1000 and thinks "this is a good orlandu." Epeen is cruel, if you're under 1k you may as well be under 700.
I put black cowl on the ABSOLUTELY MUST FARM list for that reason. I dropped 30% of moogles into it along with fusing a couple dupes.

Go read the wikipedia article about Sarutobi Sasuke, then maybe play Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and then remember all the Sasuke references in FF (and most other games) are about him and not... whatever other characters might pop into your head.

Fuck, i think I've hit my first wall in LR: FF13. In the Valhalla Temple in the Wildlands, the monsters are very strong and I feel a little weak. i can win most encounters but one very specific encounter feels unbeatable and its the goddamn Dryads.
They absorb wind and their strategy is to pelt you with Aero at first , which is already annoying when there's multiple of them, but soon one can summon two others and then all of them start casting Aeroga on each other and heal themselves, prolonging the battle and turning it into a war of attrition.
I've had to deal with these faggots in the Jagd woods but the ones here are stronger and start out with more of them. I have neither the supplies nor the damage output to deal with them.

What should I do? I'm on the 4th day so far and this is the first time I've felt that I could not proceed.

I love it. AoE ranged imperil, and strong debuffing attack & defense mugs that can be paired with mug bloodlust. While he doesn't really have a chance to dish out extreme damage with it, Zidane can help with a bit of everything. It's really a "jack of all trades" sort of burst desu

I tried out Cloud USB memes before D300 Bahamut went away, and had Zidane use it. I have no way to give Zidane enwind (only have BSB1) and no Chant for crit damage boost, but shit was still hitting overflow damage. 12k burst commands, 25k mug bloodlust, 60k+ soul break cast (although there was another instance of his imperil active), and finally, 50k+ Dash & Slash per turn. Doesn't seem so shabby considering the shit missing in order to maximize EX SOLDIER Mode.
