When I went to the Old Workshop, there was another doll there and it was surrounded by shitloads of bloodstains. I have never seen so many bloodstains in one place before. But nothing I did triggered anything.

Some madman actually farmed two perfect ones and a Heavy and popped them into a Beast Cutter, and they sure looked like they were better.

The rationale makes sense: If two Cold Abyssals and an elemental Abyssal are better than any combination of Colds and elemental Tempering gems, then it stands to reason one or two Heavy +15s and a Tempering Abyssal are better than Heavies and 27s.

+3 cleaver vs +5 ludwig with the best (read: not particularly good) gems available thus far without chalice dungeons. Identical r1 damage despite ludwig's upgrade advantages and slower speed. I'd call that shit damage, given the resources I've pumped into it.

Sure, I could trick to the greatsword, but if I wanted to hit the attack button and manage to brush my teeth in the time it takes for an attack to come out I'd boot up a souls game and at least play at 60fps.

What part of you thinks that wasn't an attempt at a visceral? Did you think I decided to R1 just for the fun of it? I waited until the end of the animation to visceral, and it was too damn long. Did some more experimentation and it turns out you can visceral during the tricking animation. The damage is equivalent regardless of the form of the weapon. So you can awkwardly juggle between a gun and a tricked form with the length of your average pull-out procedure for (at my current stats and upgrade) 410 damage with +5 and shitty gem ludwig, or I could do an effortless parry and visceral with a +3, untouched cleaver for 401 damage. So I go back to my original point: why would I choose to use a weapon that is all around shittier but with some stagger in case you can't dodge to literally save your life?
