Gil (EMIYA or Atalante for budget, Robin Hood for walmart budget) is essential to deal with Nero. Otherwise that cockroach bitch will not die.
Waver and/or Jannu are fairly essential in the final fight for their NP delay/block.
Cu is alright for dealing with Gil in the final battle, but your Archer can do that too so I wouldn't recommend it.
Altera, Saibuh, Nero, Salter, or Caesar if budgeted is very nice to have to get rid of the lancer mob trash and their proto Cu to prevent your Archer from getting shit on.

Try to have your 3 non archer servants in front row, and your archer in backrow with a kaleido or some initial NP charge CE so it's ready to instantly NP nero once it comes out.

76/89 cost right now, and I can still grind a few levels.

The first one in JP was hard because there were problems that weren't in the US version.
There wasn't any 40AP quest for XP, you only got 1AP back per 10mn before that event so you didn't really have high level servants, you could only generate one single crit star per hit (making Gil the best star generator by far since he does 5 hits on every attack), Waver was shit, a roll was 4 quartz and you could do a 10 roll without getting a single servant.

If you want monuments, farm for some on 15AP, but if your Master Level is 50 or lower you should probably be levelling up as much as possible with overflow AP. In general, you should wait for the better dailies that guarantee you a piece for 30AP and gems from the class you actually want + some other mats, the current ones are hit & miss in general, they could easily grant you Secret Gems in some cases, though so they are not awful per se.

This was what I was doing during story missions, the chance of getting 50 crit stars is pretty low, I normally average 30 to 50 crit stars which with his gather skill is still more than enough.

My most common comp though is my d'eon, my lancelot, and my friends alteria when alteria isn't available a second lancelot will do.

Alteria has good aoe that you can burn on the second wave or third wave depending the order you get them in and your only focus is to clear wave one while getting your noble phantams up. Seems pretty solid for me but I'm no meta fag or anything, just using what I got to work with.

If I could I'd probably put waver in my second slot so I could have a higher chance of getting everyone to 100% NP with his card pull so he'd replace my d'eon.

It really depends, if you want to play consistently for the upcoming days prior to the new Event, you should probably end your overflow AP as soon as possible, but if you are low level because you rerolled recently and want to tackle the upcoming Event (if it happens, though) with high AP (1000+), you are probably only spamming 20AP untill you reach a certain Master Level and then you wait.
