i'm not sure if it's microstutter, but i have some issue with the witcher 3 that makes it pretty much intolerable to play. the game visually freezes for a split second every few seconds - sometimes longer spaces of time in between -- but i get like 90+ frames when it's not happening, not like a constant low dip. anyone else have this?

I have 60k gold, fully upgraded estate at Toussaint, even gave 40k or smth to that arab merchant you are talking about.
I still have about 50-60k worth of words which i cant sell since every single armorsmith/swordsmith is too poor to buy them for now.

Just do the Hired Knight missions in Toussaint and loot the swords from the bandits you kill, it gives you shitton of money after selling them.

I always make Triss go through Witchunters torture.Though i wish it was more brutal.

I'm a gigantic Trissfag and I do it too sometimes. Triss gets a really great badass moment when she kills Menge. I like that scene a lot. On the other hand, she doesn't have to prove anything to my Geralt and I also like going with her plan until they are about to take her away, then trying out Axii. when she asks why did he do it, Geralt says she means too much to him to let her get tortured, which best goes in line with my Geralt.

Either way, I love that quest, it's fun and it has several interesting outcomes.

No i do it because it's actually a shitty scene. The worst in the game and by itself is enough to make Triss the worst character in whole franchise.
Whole context and outcomes do not make fucking sense.
First, they are way too careless with one of the most wanted sorceresses in the NR, a member of the fucking Lodge (that plotted assasination of kings so every member is fucking top tier wanted). Whole room, whole base even should be fucking covered in dimeritium and they should also put her a dimeritium shackles so she wouldn't cast any spell.
You think Menge, who forces you to drink from a silver chalice to check if you're not a doppler and with who one dialogue mistake makes shit hit the fan, wouldn't have security measures like that?
Also she goes to the room with THREE fucking witchhunters who are experienced in their job and have full equipment with them. Even if she showed ANY suspicious behavior they would make sure she wouldn't try it again.
But when you enter she broke out and took on THREE fucking experienced soldiers by herself in weakened state as she just had her fingernails ripped. By fucking miracle probably.
Also the option that you can wipe out whole base should not be possible. It's retarded. There should be a cutscene like in W2 where you both are just fucking massacred by bunch of them. There is no fucking way Triss and Geralt, even at full power, could handle that.
Whole scene is fucking retarded and CDPR made it that way just to pander to Triss audience because we can't have her being hurt too much.
It's way more disgusting especially that you have an option to prevent any harm from your waifu, but when Yen decides to do harm to herself by performing necromancy and taking the full blame on herself for destroying the garden (and being exiled FOREVER from Skellige) so you wouldn't have any problems, you can'd do fucking shit to defend her.
This thing alone makes Triss the worst fucking bitch in game. Just special treatment from CDPR.

Well, you do raise some good points, I can't deny that. The witch hunters should have been more careful. The did want to put her in dimeritium, but that was the moment she attacked them. A sorceress should have no problem taking out three people though. I don't thing fingernails affect her ability to cast spells, especially in such an adrenaline filled situation where the pain can be ignored.

I don't know about killing them all though, there's like 20 or so of them, it's a tough fight but plausible for her and Geralt I think. It helps that they don't attack all at once, some are in the yard, some take time to get to them and you can even kill just a few without the other noticing it. You are fighting 5 or so of them at a time. That's an easy fight for game Geralt.

I do agree about Geralt acting more protective with Triss compared to Yen, there are several moments where Geralt can get very protective of Triss(the necklace, the rats in the sewers, avoiding torture, getting worried she revealed her identity to Brendan, at the ball when that guy insults her, even their romance dialogues are sometimes in that tone) and maybe one or two where he gets protective of Yen(the Lugos fight comes to mind, Ermion dialogue during the mask quest, remind me of another one). That can partially be attributed to the personality differences between the two. Yen is a more dominant person and she is often in charge during her scenes with Geralt while with Triss he is the dominant one.

The game doesn't go on auto play like other games, you can seriously fuck up around every corner, twice! Doesn't help that TW3 which has the most content, also is 90% quest helper with 10% hidden shit you can easily miss.

imo CDPR really fucked up with the expansions by pandering to whining loot goblins who were complaining about having nothing to spend. By putting up such huge cash sinks for the minority, it encourages such a tedious, objectively worse way of playing for everyone. Especially since the looting system is annoying as fuck, along with weight limits, low coin merchants, etc. I'm personally not affected since im on pc but i think its a real shitty design choice.

But the fucker has like 300000 health so it was just all a waste of time, and it would be faster to go in to close quarters and die and then fight again the normal way, two times over, than spam the crossbow...
