As a Witcherfag obviously already abandoned by CDPR (and with good cause- the series has concluded) I have just been enlightened as to what absolutely should come to be, if the world is a place of reason, righteousness and pretty things. Imagine a multiplayer game in the world of Witcher, but when the white frost finally arrives and a new conjunction of the spheres threatens humanity with unspoken horrors. The player would become a witcher, a custom made one, not the legendary White Wolf, who could be in the game or not, as witchers are nearly immortal. So humanity is plagued by wars and famine and banditry, as usual, with monsters suddenly becoming much stronger and an existential problem for mankind. All this, plus the map, vast as it is slowly taken over by the eternal frost. The chief problem would be ensuring the survival or at least the deterrence of the extinction of the human and/or other race/(s)- there would be a set number of NPC s in the game, reproducing slowly, but constantly being mowed down by monsters, warfare, famine etc. Witchers would be needed, but then they are sterile, more witchers (potentially every player), means more demographic problems. And imagine the moral questions on your desperate quest to maybe find another world that, for now, is not doomed. Do you kill the bandit that promises to revert from killing? Do you allow cannibalism? Will you kill a hag who provides abortions? Remember, every decision influences the population, how long will it take for all of humanity to go extinct? Such a set up allows for many modes of play, while a game where the map is huge and literally everyone can log on and join the fight in real time to keep humanity alive is probably not yet technically possible, you could set of with a handful of friends, band together and join a game, you could join an already running one etc.

Even a solo campaign could be fun, that one could be with Geralt and Ciri and Yen moving mankind (elf-kind still alive?) to other world(s). Being protector of humanity would be much more real if every life counted and the monsters would become much MUCH stronger, like so strong that it would take a seizable group of witchers to bring one down. Sadly, this will probably never come about, but I would certainly pay to let it happen. Ech... all the best to CDPR, hope 2077 will be as epic as it sounds.

A few months ago I looked through some mods for W3 and found a rather nice sounding overhaul mod. Now I finally have time to replay W3 and wanted to play it with that mod, but unfortunately I can't find it anymore, so here's me hoping you might know which one I'm talking about and where to find it.

What I remember from the mod:
