I think I've also made it very clear to other admins that even if they find a way to somehow see forum IPs, that shit is private and *NOT* to be publically shown. Just to add onto this, if you're using something like the singularity or solars (god forbid) where the power fluctuates, you're better off to set the SMES's slightly lower than what you figured for step 5.
That way they charge all the time instead of turning off and on constantly. It might be slower, but if you set the threshold for charging too high, the power is lost forever and will take even longer to charge.

Combat Mechs are by and large, move slow, and turn slow on top of most pilots having zero idea how to fix short circuits, recalibration, or even simple cell swap/mech armor repair. Their primary benefit is functioning as mobile cover for your squad, protecting you from sting/glare/subj and shit, and saving a hand slot to rcd or DDrill through doors. The durand can't use the jail cell and shit which means you are wasting D i a m o n d on being a shitty cop that has to hop out and switch his taser out any time. Any intelligent threat just has to walk away to completely nullify you. Non-intelligent threats aren't really a threat and aren't common. There are rarely combat mechs ready to be used or in use. And when you do get a spider apocalypse or whatever, there isn't enough established skill in the playerbase for your squad to go in with flamethrowers and repairing you as you function as a lightning rod and floodlight with their displaced girders.

As an aside, barely anyone wants to stick it out through station damage so even if there are ripley/phazon repair mechs sitting around, they don't really shine despite being powerful
Odysseus is really only effective over a combat medic for using its sleeper to clown car people to the destination. Being a super expensive locker isn't really a reason to make or pilot it in 99% of the situations. If you use it as a combbat mech then see: combat mechs

If we get better mob AI and better mobs for hostile mob events maybe but what mechs are useful against is too rare for them to be good, you can rarely buddy system with anyone let alone getting a guy to stick with you as you slowly lumber around having to change your cell every 12 minutes

They're not all that expensive. 3 honks really only need metal from cargo to be filler. Durand's are pretty affordable without damaging the BoH/gun stream if you aren't hitting the silver modules hard. When you're getting the honks you get 2 phazons which caps off a full sec squad all by yourself in approximately 25 minutes and cargo doing their job. If there's actual miners, you can make some gygaxes, one of which can handle the taser cuff mech brig cell, for a durand sidegrade and refit the durands for support to get some powergamers to step up and join the mech ball.

Yeah you don't get to use them a lot but it's largely a consequence of the server being mostly pub shitter babies. Back when we regularly had 2.5-4 hour rounds half the day we'd use em like hotcakes

Durand is shit but it's still an armored player with a near unlimited gun which with the armor modules helps it a great bit

My only gripes are I feel that arrivals and escape are the wrong way around, the AI upload place is in a weird place and I feel like it should be where the meeting room is, and the whole hallway splitting the museum and command in half is weird. Command should be bulked up a bit and the museum placed as part of it.
I think the positioning of the other departments is fine. Cargo and Engineering are a bit further away but that's what disposals delivery is for.

As soon as science is done doing research, you should make a rapid parts exchange. As mining for silver, uranium, and gold, then print the most advanced components (stock parts) you can. Read the wiki's guide to advanced construction to see what machines have what components. Use a screwdriver on a machine, use the RPE, and screwdriver again to close it up.

I think the videogame music playlists need a huge clean-up too and that might be a bit out of my league. There's a lot of content there I don't think I'd be able to organise very well.
The others will be easier but I wouldn't be able to add a lot to some because I simply aren't into much outside of cheesy r&b because I am unfortunately a hopeless romantic.

Most if not all machines that use the Machine Frame can be upgraded by having their components replaced with better ones.

I'll probably spend some time tonight updating the wiki to cover the basics, but there's two ways of doing it.

1) Build an RPE (Rapid Part Exchanger) from your Protolathe. By far the fastest, you load a bunch of high-end components from your Stock Parts from the Protolathe into it, then click on the machine you want to upgrade with it and it'll replace the parts. The old stuff gets put in the RPE, so make sure to empty it after.
2) Screwdriver, then crowbar the machine. This breaks the machine down and ejects all the components in it, including the circuit board (last I checked, anyways). Put the board back in, then pick up the old components and put them somewhere where you won't mix them up with the new ones. Insert the new components one a time into the machine, the game will tell you how many of each component it will need until there are none remaining. Finally, screwdriver it to finish and turn on the machine.
