Hey /gsg/ I was reading through some old archived threads and read that if I activate EU4 DLC illegally and play the legit base game through steam the data sharing feature Paradox has in place will give me a potential to get banned. Has anyone confirmed this? Is it really worth blocking the Data sharing? And further more what about the guys with DLC achievements on steam who do not own the DLC?

The thing with Louisiana is there were barely any French people there, even when it was sold to the US the vast majority of settlers lived in/around New Orleans. It had belonged to Spain for a long time and when France got it back they were too busy with endless wars to colonize it.

I've been fucking with the pops text for New Zealand but nothing fucking does it, Kirikiroa stays on 1 pop (noculture). Alaskans are staying noculture, too; I added them to the culture file in the Swiss minimod because I thought maybe that file was conflicting with the one from HPM but Alaskans remain noculture both in the accepted pops window and in the provinces.

There were barely any French people there, until the end of the French Indian War. I'm playing EU4 for the first time in a long time as as England -> Great Britain, and it's 1541. I've got the isles united, france in a personal union, and colonies going in cuba and north america. My ideas are exploration, expansion, and quality. Which groups do you guys prefer for Great Britain?

Where do I go from here? I probably won't assimilate France, just keep them as my personal continental attack dog. Is there any reason to convert to Protestantism or Reformed? Catholicism seems to be the strongest of the three, with all the different options available.

Do any of you guys have advice on colonizing India? When/where is it best to do so? For right now I'm just planning on building up my navy and continuing to colonize the Caribbean and North america.

Forgot to add, you will get a mission that gives you a claim on an Indian or Malayan estuary province. That's when you go for India. Before then, try and get Guinea provinces (for the Triangle Trade shekels) before Spain and South Africa before Portugal/Spain. After South Africa get Indian Ocean islands like Diego Garcia so you have a shipyard for the voyage to India.

I can manage an army effectively now, so it shouldn't be a challenge.
I even won the two front war as Hungary against Romania. (Lost the southern part, but that can be reclaimed easily if you have only one enemy)

What is your go to tactics?
When I'm rich I go Tanks/Mech with support equipment.
When I'm poor I just make Infantry with limited support equipment and Cavalry+Armored Car to make up for no speed. And I make sure to never fight battles I can't win. (Always outnumber the enemy on a local scale, even if they outnumber me globally.)
I feel that Cavalry is really undervalued. You can't assault a fort with them, but they can really make the front lines more.

When I'm poor with no IC I go 3 inf 1 art with cav support if I can afford it, later on making it mot if I have decent IC and if I have good IC med arm with a eng on each 3 stack. If I start out with great IC I'll just skip to the arm with a few stacks of inf.

This isn't a matter of my tactics though. As Yunnan you can fight Tibet, Ma, and AOG (Taiping LARPers are usually dead in a year and aren't usually available). The problem is that by fighting the AOG you have to go to war with Germany in 1938, which means non stop air raids and massive marine stacks showing up everywhere once you annex AOG. Even if the CoF wins you're still stuck in a never ending war (Germany won in my yunnan game). It's hard.
