Go to training mode, the move is called, "Run for Cover" and it's ass. Mid, high, mid, low means that you can duck and punish after you block the first hit, step the 3rd and just hold df after the 3rd button. The best way to do deal with strings like these is to stand block and just hold df after the 3rd or hopkick the low because it's standing.

It's i18 so it's unseeable. 10-15f is fast. While 22f+ is slow...

Instead of qcb3 u can use db3 it's very good. Qcb3 being unsafe on block is not even a problem since it's only -14. Not many characters can launch you for it.

Orbitals are extremely linear moves that can usually be sidestepped, and in Bryan's case, his Orbital can be sidestepped in both directions. his forward moving stance has auto punch parry, so if you're mashing jabs it'll keep going and he can still do his move or just exit the stance and do something else. he has a really good low from it and a mid launcher, but both are steppable to your right (and both are unsafe on block).

he has a 10f counter hit high (b+1) that leads into shoulder for 50 dmg and his other basic tools also randomly have good ch properties (WS4, df+1, regular 1,1), so yea pressing buttons is pretty ill-advised unless that button is specifically down jab or generic d+4, which he has to low parry or low crush with his awful hopkick.

just remember that if you block his b+1, it's -10, but since it's hard to punish, just use that opportunity to get away from his pressure or take your turn for a mixup of your own. the only thing to beware of is backswing blow and uf+2 which has built in sidestep left.

i'm not great at doing them, but let me try to explain it in a way that helped me a lot.

you're likely pressing the buttons in a sequence instead of doing the game registering the d/f + 2 inputs at the same time. and you're going to look at this and be like: 'well, duh', but it's important to establish that for what I have to say next.

you probably FEEL like you're pressing 2 and d/f simultaneously, but if you look down at your pad while you're doing the commands, you'll most likely see that you're not. you're going to have to trick your own mind into pressing 2 at the correct time by pressing the input at a time that, to you, seems like it would be too early. that's (probably) why the other anons are telling you to do d+2 instead of d/f + 2. by the time you press 2, your thumb will already be moving toward the forward button and the game will interpret it as d/f + 2.

like I said, I'm not great at doing them, but I can get them out semi-consistently. i'm also on pad, if that helps.

it's not hard to weed out if you're actually trying to get better. the game fucking sucks at teaching you, and no character will help with that, but if you look for the resources online and have decent players around you to play with, then there's no reason why you can't learn to play solid and discern gimmicks from real shit.

it doesn't matter which character you pick if you don't know which move that character has is good or bad or gimmicky and don't know why. pick up kazumi and spam tiger because you think it's good? play jack and do cossack kicks because you think it's good? no character is any different.

you don't do unsafe shit all the time simply because the other guy isn't going to punish it. you don't snake edge with bryan as a mixup or mash b+3 with hwo to fish for launch or mash on chloe hopkick or deathfist all the time with paul or junkyard all the time with law just because the other guy isn't punishing it. unless it's in a tournament setting, you should be trying to get better, and playing high risk is a way to play, sure, but it's also a quick way to lose vs any actual tekken player. and that should be a clue. a clue that a lot of people don't learn because they don't care to learn.

Wut.. of course use it. What I'm saying is understading what to do in that specific frame gap is very important. +6 means your 15f move will beat there down jab. 15f moves are generally launchers. So it's wise to take the mixup when they're +6 on block, unless you read a 18f move. So for example drag gets you with b1+2and you block it. He's now at +6. Any button u press will lose to df2 (his mid launcher). So now u don't press a button but he grabs you. You duck he gets you with uf4/b1+2. Maybe you read he will do d2 which is 18f your down jab will beat it and interrupt him (now you're at +6). Next time he does b1+2 to continue the pressure, down jab beats it's again. Next time u do downjab but he side steps, now you whiff into another df2/b1+2/uf4.

Next say Bryan does b1 and u block it which is +3-4, your downjab beats everything except backdash, sidestep and uf4. But at +4 you have to be careful not to press buttons as ch can be possible with 15-16f moves but linear ones will be steppable

Say you do Bryan's 121 string and they block it. You're at -6 but u can use downjab to beat all they're options expect low crush and you're now +6.

So the higher plus frame the better. It limits what they can do and opens what you can do. Which is why standing 1 is important. +1 on block and +8 on hit

I'm having trouble with Heihachi's Dragon Uppercut.
In the move list it's the same motion as Wind God Fist but with 1.
In Sample Combo 5 it's done without the "down".
I can't do it in either motion but I can do WGF.

you can option select the entire string with one sequence of inputs. as in, you can crouch block after blocking ff+2, which ducks the high, then stand block the mid, then input low parry shortly after, which would be during the blockstun of the mid, which then low parries the low followup. and if he feints it, you're fine. the low is even reactable, so you can just focus on ducking the high and launch punishing it.

Yes. I picked Nina, practiced with her for a week, learned the movement with hayashida step, SS1 cancels and how fucking hard iWS1 combos were and then I decided that it was too much for me to continue because I decided to stop being a tech monster.

You can play both of those characters fundamentally and still do well; you just dig deeper as you go just like what any other character.

i am light blue, don't read ANY of this

he can crush high and low with pretty good stuff. his orbital is safe and crushes high (good range imo as well) but you might get fucked up for using uf+3 frivolously, so be sure you're crushing a high with it.
1,1 -- 10 frame option that's high mid and you also have a high low in 1,4
f+2, 4 is his 12 frame i think and it's good damage (high, high though so save it for punish)
db1 is my go-to low poke, unseeable, high crush, natty combo into db1,3.
his db4 sweep is a counter hit launch.
if you find yourself in SEN or DEN and you don't want to do anything risky you can cancel with df, d, or db (maybe not df i can't remember 100%).
use df1 and db2,1 for mid poking with plus frames, but if they sidestep a lot use b1.
ultimately (and this is why i'm not ranking up probably) don't be lured in by his flashier moves. play simple tekken and use safe pressure first and foremost and you can win with him consistently. save the orbitals and shit for their correct time and place.
