Is the community. The loud, obnoxious, 24/7 complaining/ranting biased community. It is impossible for any group of devs even if they were the greatest geniuses the world had ever seen to both balance the game and satisfy the insatiable community.

They plan everything multiple expansions in advance. Knowing what they will develop in the future and push, what they won't, new ideas. However if the fanbase cries super hard, then they end up being forced not to push something that was meant to keep something else in check, or they nerf something that allows something else to run rampant. Haven was garbage during standard likely due to the beta nerfs of skullfane and devourer of heavens. Which were nerfed likely cause the community cried so hard about it. If they weren't maybe PTP Forest and midrange sword would have had more competition, thus reducing their usage, thus allowing also other crafts like blood to be played more and do better as well.

I only used the version with 1 Spawn. He fucked me over a few times when I needed Baphomet to pull Cheshire Cat, but he also clutched out a few games. Even in hearthstone this is the peoblem too although the quest system is strutueed differently. It is because top tier deck complete quest faster. Gwent dealt with it somewhat better as you can just go all in on turn 1 and forfeit the rest of the game and you still get progress. My advice is that when you bring fun deck to the table, always expect meta deck on the other side.
