Can anyone help my scrub self?

I'm doing all the inputs right consistently (well obviously not, otherwise the combo would be working, but the attacks do come out), but 6H misses 90% of the time (goes above Sol's head). I'm not sure what to do. I've tried starting the air combo at different points of Sol's jump, I tried to delay my inputs before the 6H and I've spammed the inputs as fast as I can.
6H hitting Sol after the 2 slashes still feels random to me. When I don't jump cancel into the second S I always manage to hit 6H, but doing it the way they tell me to makes Sin jump too far above Sol.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Well everyone kind of has parry with shield, so actual parries are not really a thing (Ryougi has one but it's not that good since you could just shield instead).

There is no big guy grappler, F-Kouma is the closest to a traditional grappler, but he's not really big. Still I think you may like to give him a try (I personally find him pretty boring and linear, but I never liked grapplers).

Powerd Ciel is not a grappler either, but she sure is slow (the worst mobility in the game) and while she has no command grab, her regular grab lets her combo and is pretty scary. She also has a kinda but not really hammerfall, it's a fast dash that has 1 hit of clash and has different followups. All PCiels are pretty different but H is the easiest, they all still require some combo boaring.
