If the double kills your target, they get no chance to retaliate, which makes it immensely powerful for allowing low-defense targets to burst threats that could otherwise kill them.

Brash assault just makes it so that if you wouldn't already double, but you're attacking a target that can retaliate, you will double

She needs a dancer because stat bloat is too high for OHKO's otherwise. The mages are the biggest risks just because they all OHKO her if she's left in range, so you have to sort of pick them off one by one to clean up their overlapping ranged coverage before she can get to work on the melee.

Adding to this, this is why people often tell you it's only worth it on Lyn, since her Sol Katti comes is with a desperation 2 effect built in, and desperation 2 activates at the same time as brash assault, giving you 2 automatic doubles once she goes below 50% HP.

Otherwise it's pretty shit since it's a gamble running around the battlefield with a unit below 50% of their HP on a game where the meta centers around killing units in one shot.

Being fair, it's a double-edged sword, since it also stops you from having enemy units die on the counterattack when you place a unit you just know will kill them right on their path. And in the case of Firesweep Bows it saves the bowman from Hector/Ryoma/Xander/other ranged users.

Anyone notice how like the last several GHBs and challenge maps have all been "a melee unit followed by the entire rainbow of mage mobs"
The melee is almost always a lance cav too for some reason, but more importantly the fact that IS seems to know the only way to introduce difficulty onto endgame maps is to make sure there's at least 3 mages

I think that's done intentionally.
On infernal especially, spd is inflated to the point where most of those mages might as well be immune to getting doubled, but if they could also double your units on top of that they'd be absolutely insane.

It's how they reconcile spd being both a defensive and offensive stat. -sweep effects remove the offensive aspect.

Generally you get about 950 SP going from 1-40, if you level slowly by always picking lower leveled stuff (especially in the first 20 levels) you can squeeze out nearly 1200 SP if it matters.

Either way as long as you have enough to get Deathblow on him you're more than set, that with a dancer or support squad will sweep most of the tempest.

If it's any help, I cleared it with a Klein/Olivia/Catria/Michalis team and followed the mkv method roughly.
Klein can be subbed for a decently fast blue tome user if you have one, since he mainly just doubled and killed the reds
Olivia was used to tank the green tome since she's red (was only level 34 but it was still fine).
Catria was just moving drawback fodder. Drawback fliers are great on this map because there's a line of water behind you only they can pass, giving them more flexibility for positioning. You can use literally any one of them, she was just all I had.
Michalis just tanked and killed the blue cav at the start with QR1, and then procced Ignis once afterwards to leave Celica within kill-range. Any Wyvern can be substituted here.

It depends on what her boon is, really. You run Darting Blow if +Attack and Fury if +Speed. the reason being that Darting blow on +Speed is overkill and Fury on +Attack puts unbuffed Nino at 39 speed. The difference between 39 and 42 speed is massive when looking at how many things she'll be able to double and delete.

The power behind Fury is that it syncs extremely well with Desperation.

To be honest, I don't really look at an FE game for replayability. Just the nature of an SRPG is that facing the same challenge with slightly different dicerolls doesn't make for a terribly interesting second experience. Plus the story is generally a big draw and there's not really much point in seeing it play out again. The FE games with weak stories are consequently the weaker games, even when they offer some kind of replayability.

And just a personal gripe, but I hate being presented with a choice where either option locks you out of choice-specific content you'll need to completely replay to experience.
