I want Winston's weapons to be harder to use. He's just so easy right now he's not satisfying to play. Jump Pack and his Shield and enjoyable abilities that really stimulate my brain crank, but his Tesla Gun and ult are just so mind-numbingly dumb it hurts.

If anything, it was a nerf. Soul globes appeared from all kills, regardless of who got them, while the vampirism is only your damage dealt, which could very well be 1 damage on a target with 1 hp.

The change lets him 1v1 tanks, because before, the tanks would kill him before he could get their soul orbs, but now his healing outpaces their damage since he gets the benefit immediately. Reaper walked a fine line where he just needed a little bit extra to duel and fight effectively and his lifesteal provides it. His ult now makes him basically immortal since he heals for 34hp per second per enemy hit. That means that even in a suboptimal situation where you ult "only" two people you're healing for 64 health per second, on top of your 250 max hp you already have. That's infinitely better than killing 2 people and getting 2 health orbs that you don't even need since they're dead.

The only situation where the orbs were superior is that if a fight is extremely spread out and a lot of people got solo kills you could benefit from their effort and grab the orbs.

It's not really a moot point because unless people die, you don't get those orbs. You heal 40 hp per 200 hp hero, which is a bit of a downgrade from the old 50 hp per orb, but the lifesteal very quickly beats it since if people get healed that only improves your lifesteal capabilities.

Before the absolute maximum amount you could heal with orbs was 300 hp if the entire enemy team died, while now you heal 100hp per monkey and 120 per D.Va killed. That's without any heals. It just ends up being way more usable for most playstyles and engagements.

I consistently play at about 2.8k MMR. Sometimes I go to 3k or fall to about 2.6k. I've been doing this since season two.
