Is Yoshi retarded? No really, has he been clinically diagnosed as retarded? Does his staff just cherry-pick comments off the official forum for him to read that praise the current state of the game? The current job health/balance is the worst it’s ever been in the history of this game with half the jobs being made clunky/boring to play and WAR/MCH/SCH being nigh unplayable. What’s his initial response? Let’s boost enmity generation on tanks.

Hallelujah! Now as a WAR I can finally generate enough enmity so that I can ultimately die because my healer is a SCH that would be better replaced by a fucking chocobo and my dps are SAM/RDM who continue to single out separate targets. I can’t wait for 4.05 when Yoshi finally adds a skill to every job that isn’t PLD/AST/SAM/RDM that lets me spread my ass cheeks in the air and shout, “Please let me respect the content”!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Yoshi was a one-trick pony who got lucky with ARR and has been a detriment to the game ever since. Please look forward to my dick you washed up hack!

No one plays NIN because of the party interaction that's demanded of it. People like to play selfish jobs and just pump big numbers out.

NIN requires you to use shit like Goad, Smoke Screen and Shadewalker etc. Which is something most mindless DPS drones don't want to do. Also NIN absolutely requires good ping and so a lot of people can't play it without sacrificing some DPS because of clipping and that turns them off.

NIN is probably the best behind SAM. They bring best utility and dmg is close to MNK.

DRG doesn't bring enough utility for their lack of damage, Dragon Sight is crap and they nerfed disembowel by 5%(but left the other debuffs the same, nice work balance team). It's also cancer to play.

MNK is in an awkward spot where they should be close to SAM in damage, but apparently Mantra and Brotherhood means they should have a giant gap between them and SAM.

SAM's numbers are retarded, end of story. Utility right now does not make up for their stupid power gap.

What utility does a NIN bring to the group? I do like the idea of being a support-type DPS if possible. I don't need to be doing big super numbers if I can enhance others but I don't want to be doing peanuts either.

Also, I solo a lot, does NIN have high survivability alone in the wild?

Yep. Hypercharge is a 5% raidwide damage increase on a 2 minute cooldown that lasts effectively 28 seconds. Dismantle reduces enemy damage by 10% for 5 seconds, useful for aoe. Then we have our role skills. Every SCH will love you when you start shoving MP into all of their orifices and Palisade lasts really long for something that useful.

There's an option in the settings that lets you add a another half bar with R2+L2 and L2+R2, and they recently added ANOTHER pair of half bars with double tap R2 and L2. I put global shit I use with every class on double L2 like mounts and limit break. I use R2+L2 for extra shit like NINs wizard stuff and double R2 for AoEs. With how much shit they cut I don't use even use the L2+R2 one anymore.

Just play around with it you'll be good.

I personally don't think SCH is unplayable, especially for mains. It's just really clunky and unintuitive now, and half of its skills were either removed or feel unrewarding. Aetherpact/Fey Union doesn't feel strong at all for a level 70 skill. It feels like it hardly does anything for what I have to give up to use it. Also, the mana costs are insane. Excogitation is alright, but I wish it didn't take up and Aetherflow stack (or offered something else if the heal doesn't proc). SCH also seems to be punished for making mistakes, let alone dying, much harsher than the other two healers when it doesn't offer much more than either of them. Chain Strategem and Broil II are the only decent new skills. Everything else in SCH's kit is pretty mediocre.
