The Blackest Night is literally the only interesting thing left for tanks, and only one of them has a mechanic like it. Just because something was buffed doesn't mean it wasn't fine before. You shouldn't balance the game around isolated low level issues. I'm not complaining since it gives more uptime for tank DPS at high levels, but lets not pretend it was hard at high levels. With PLD all you did was 2 Flash and then Eclipse spam. Now it might just be one Flash per pack.

It varies. There is no "easy" version of the most story-relevant raid (Binding Coil of Bahamut), though being a level 50 raid it's possible to take the cheater way out and disable level sync at level 60/70, facerolling everything in seconds. The normal version isn't THAT hard though thanks to Echo, nerfs and overgearing.

Alexander has an easy version as does the new Omega raid, but bosses sometimes have spectacular additional forms in the Savage version, and they're going to double down on that in Stormblood.

Omega will only put full effort into making a boss when it's guaranteed to be a good fight for him to evolve.

After the massive fucking shitfest that is 2.1 - 2.55 MSQ, I really wasn't looking forward to post MSQ HW content.
I was really pleasantly surprised that not only these quest don't suck at all, these are easily on par with regular HW MSQ quality. Just finished Nidhogg story trial and I'm really loving the story.
