shadowverse is literally just a japanese knock-off of hearthstone. the only reason it was competitive was due to how shit hearthstone was during karazhan and mean streets. now it actually has a decent meta, and shadowverse's expansions have been getting progressively worse and more broken since RoB. there's no reason to play the knock-off until blizz breaks their game again.

If you evaluate the card in a vacuum (which is generally what leads to misevaluations) it's just a pile of stats that wins the game slower or as slow as aegis, anomaly, Azazel, snek, Mordecai, or any other of the host of big flashy finishers. What pushes it over the edge is the existence of baphomets enhance which let's it come down turn 6 and win the game turn 7. What makes a turn 5 2/1 absurd is the insanely OP neutral engine which basically guarantees board control going first and negates any tempo loss a turn 5 baph should generate. That's the problem broken cards that everyone has access to, theres always going to be one class that breaks them harder than any other.

This. Everyone thought Spawn was just a soft wincon. It's not the individual card that's busted, it's the entire deck when it comes together.

Nerfs are still necessary somewhere but it's probably not going to be on Spawn himself. Baphomet and Goblin Leader are the most likely targets by far.

You think I'd still be in the top 10k if I stopped grinding after reaching GM? Currently in the top 700 with a little bit over 6k.

Spawn doesn't need to be touched. It's fine as a Control Blood wincon. The problem is when he comes down turn 6 for the cost of a "bad" turn 5 in a deck that has the best turns 1-4 in the game. As a turn 8 play in CBlood, it's a punishable do nothing if you don't evolve and trade with it (what makes so it very likely won't win you the game) and it's useless if you are too behind in tempo.

That's the case for every tier 0 deck meta in every card games. It's fun beating "the big guy". That experience didn't exist in ToG because you couldn't tech against both Dragon and Shadow.
There is also the fact that this meta is just much more enjoyable in general if you ignore Neutral Blood. People actually play on board, there is none of that 10+ out of hand Storm damage we've had with Roach and Zell in RoB/ToG, or "lol I'll just refill my board again" from Daria and Midrange Shadow.

Even teching against just Dragon or Shadow was annoying because they were such straight decks. I think Neutral Blood is more powerful than either of them, but it's way more reliant on its gimmicks compared to Dragon that had a lot of defensive options and Shadow which just ran high value cards.

You interrupt the aggro curve and Neutral Blood just falls apart. If you fail you lose hard, but when they hit their perfect curve and you have the perfect answers it feels so good. Dragon's perfect hand was answers and ramp. Shadow didn't so much have a perfect hand as much as it never had a bad one.

I also agree that the meta looks great minus Neutral Blood. It feels like we'll have a really good one once the issue is solved, whether it's because of nerfs or some counter becoming prominent enough to force a shift.

Maybe it's me, but I honestly feel like they fucked with draw rates. It feels like EVERYONE gets optimal draws except pure control. Followers, particularly low cost ones, seem to always be in a starting hand, but early removal or early setup cards are nowhere to be found. As if they want this meta to be so aggro friendly that they made certain cards more likely to be drawn earlier

A naked BnB with buffs up is as strong as everyone thought it'd be, but the meta fucks Forest. Basically there's no good slower neutral kit, and if you play aggro you can't hold the necessary cards for BnB. The meta is too fast for Forest which has always relied a lot on set up turns.

There is a way to manipulate the RNG so you may draw or open exactly what you want. I tested my method with 100 packs. I designated the haven silver card Tenko as the card I DONT want and low and behold I opened every silver in abundance... except Tenko. This proof my method and you can manipulate the RNG to your favor if you are skilled enough. I will tell more if interested.
