I agree, especially since Ryuji says in the main story around the time of Shido's Palace that he used to think being someone who helps from the shadows is boring but now he doesn't mind or something like that. His Confidant therefore seems different not because he's an entirely different person, it's more that he feels the consequences of his actions personally there even if it wasn't entirely wrong so he's able to maintain perspective much more than when he's all for being admired.

Honestly, this is true. Once Futaba and her hacking skills were introduced, only Makoto was really allowed to contribute, and that's only because she was the self-appointed strategist that everyone deferred to for the decision making, unanimity or no.

It reminded me of DeSu2 where whenever the characters were stuck, Fumi would appear and they'd either listen to her explain something or ask her for help because she was also the genius hacker character. I can just feel the writers relying on this one character for the exposition and the actions needed to save everyone else's ass rather than bouncing ideas off each other to make the group seem like a cohesive force together.

Yes, and I agree. Atlus did need to step back and ask what each character brought to the group. It's never been so apparent as P5, despite their writers having issues keeping the party members involved all the way through in P3 and P4.

Futaba and Makoto did have defined roles in the group, but they are still leaned on much too heavily to the point where the rest of the group are just extra sets of hands who aren't interchangeable solely because they are Persona users as well.

The other post had a point. Why didn't Ryuji say the obvious (to him) solution, only to have it worked into a more feasible plan through Futaba and Makoto? Why is Yusuke's greatest contribution the logo? Why does Haru only use her connections to take the group to Destinyland and rent a car in the end?

After a certain point these characters don't advance a step in the group's strategies and gambles at all. And there's a difference between a character making or breaking a plan's success (like Sae) and a character who is carrying the rest every step of the way.

Because, and this one gets answered all the time, NO ONE WAS GOING TO CHECK. The entire point of the scene is that everyone in the police station was crooked and being paid off. The morticians were not going to inspect the body. And even if they did, they weren't going to speak up because that would be career (and possibly literal) suicide. Same for all the guards. No one was going to double check anything because they were paid specifically to not ask questions.
