So everybody wears a mask in Shido's Palace... except Shido's cognition of Akechi. They probably just left it off because they wanted Cognitive Akechi to make a bunch of funny faces without a mask on. But still, the implications are kinda funny. Like, Shido is unsure of the motivations of literally everybody in the world... except Akechi. Akechi, who is trying to keep Shido from knowing his true self. Shido is 100% sure he's just a crazy nutball.

What Vice doesn't understand is that being women in Haru's and Makoto's positions actually takes a TON of agency and power away from them compared to men in comparable positions.

Makoto is subject to a liturgy of services to the school, society and her family that she has to fulfill, with no room for error and no time for herself. She's a permanent slave of everyone's expectations of her as a tool: Her sister only views her as a means of raising her own social status, the principal viewed her only as a tool to probe the student body, and everyone hated her for trying to meet these expectations and be a good person.

What Vice doesn't get is that success is a double edged sword in Japan, even when you're theoretically doing everything by the book. You're hated and envied in a way that is spiteful rather than admiration.

The only problem with Shido's Palace is all the hallways with zero hiding spots. That, and the PT forcing boss fights to get the letters of recommendation. Makoto alone makes this game almost unbearable. Literally everything since she joins the group is somehow twisted on its head so it can suck her dick. She gets to prattle on about shadow weaknesses even though that's the navigator's job. She gets mountains of text in every scene. She gets the most plot relevence and every character constantly sucking her off and saying how fucked the group would be without her. In literally every scene. She gets forced shipping with Joker, during Futaba's story, during social events, hell even her social link forces Joker to act as her boyfriend because fuck you the developers will force you to like her. She gets the coolest persona. She gets major screentime before joining the party. She gets the best ultimate weapons. She gets physical damage, magic damage, status recovery, healing, and buffs because again, fuck you.

Worst of all, they turn other characters into retards so Makoto looks smart in comparison. Sae becomes a dumb bitch who abuses poor widdle Makoto. Morgana is useless and can't break into a Palace so she gets le badass moment. She sends Joker to bed early while she does Kaneshiro's calling card. Hell, all of Kaneshiro's Palace is just Makoto bitching at everyone and solving all the puzzles herself, while everyone gives her praise for being 'le awesome strategist'. Ryuji actively gets dumber as the story progresses, solely so she can tell him he's stupid and look smarter herself. Whenever any character has an insight about the plot, they get drowned out by Makoto's walls of text, and then everyone licks her feet and says how brilliant she is.

I am not doing another run after NG+, a first for a Persona game. Makoto ruins this game. She is way worse than Marie. She is the reason I will not buy the next P-Team title. This is shameful writing.

I liked the mice puzzles, but that's because I never got dragged into a battle in mouse form. I hated the airlock puzzles, but ONLY because the game spawns enemies in weird spots, so you waste 30 seconds waiting for enemies to move before you can jump through the airlock if you don't want to get ambushed; they would be fine if the enemies only spawned AWAY from the airlocks themselves.

I'm not sure what exactly you're getting at. Makoto is the advisor who does a lot of the thinking and strategizing, but last I checked:
Makoto doesn't make decisions on when the group meets up to tackle Palaces and Mementos targets.
Makoto doesn't handle procuring items and equipment for the PT.
Makoto doesn't have a series of contacts throughout Tokyo that she makes time to hang out with (outside of Joker himself), to learn a variety of skills that would benefit the PT during their activities.
