Ultimately, Tokyo Xanadu is one of the best games I’ve ever played on the Vita. It gave me a reason to spend more than 50 hours on the handheld and team up with a new group of characters to go on a brand new adventure. I applaud Falcom for releasing a new IP when they have so many others that people would love to see sequels of. However, Tokyo Xanadu’s story might not be up to par with what fans expect from the developer, it ends up being mediocre with a climax that you think is coming, but never quite fully explains itself.

I love Tokyo Xanadu for what is: a solid action RPG with a dramatic premise and an awesome cast of characters. The game impressed me with the responsive battle controls and beautiful special attacks. Even though the story didn’t amount to the standards Falcom has set in the past, Tokyo Xanadu truly shows what the PlayStation Vita is capable in terms of graphics and playability and I would happily play through the game again.

What was even Ouroboros's objective in Crossbell? It was pretty easy to understand in Liberl, they wanted to get the aureole. But, in Crossbell, Ouroboros was pretty much done with what they needed to do sometime during Ao, and the rest was about the Crois family's ambitions.

The Crossbellians are there to figure out how to get their independence back. The Olivert loyalists are there to gather their power to strike back against Osborne. We followed up with asking how Falcom approaches localization and if they play a hand in the process, Kondo-san said:

When we license the game out, we trust that the publisher will do what is appropriate for the game in the region that they are in. That said, we make ourselves available to the publishers in case that have questions about anything in regards to localization and what’s in the game.

NIS America senior associate producer Alan Costa added, “Falcom has made themselves extremely available to us during localization. We’ve always been sure to reach out to them and ask them when we don’t understand something in the script or want to see how it has been done in the past”

Furthermore, NISA is only one of several western publishers working on Falcom games, others include: Aksys, XSEED, and Mastiff. Translation and localization between publishers will not always be exactly the same, whether they are working on a Falcom developed title or not.

From Kondo-san’s statements, he is as confident in NISA as they are confident in their approach to localizing Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, which seems like a good fit for this beloved series.

I already figured out his shenanigans with Arc Slash (didn't know about the impede quartz adding delay though), I just thought that since 2 or 3 uses usually frees up a turn before you have to worry about reapplication that you were supposed to use that extra room to throw out a bigger hit since Arc Slash doesn't have that much of a damage bonus.

Aksys steam releases seem to have technical issues so I'm not getting excited for ToXanadu until it's confirmed that the port isn't completely shit. I'm hyped for Ys 8 but the MTL level fuckery in some of the pre-release footage has dampened it. I don't care about the story much in Ys games so I can live with a meme translation, but I want it to at least be coherent.
