It's true that Paradox may be trying to retcon their relationship into something more significant, but it's definitely a retcon. Even in the Q and A, someone asked if there was more to Alice and Heinrich than meets the eye and he responded just by saying that basically what you see in the game is all there is to it.

If he wants to add more detail that's cool(the fact that Alice 8th didn't have a little sister was retconned too, apparently) but it's obviously not something that was originally part of the idea.

Alright! Finished the game. Man, the final boss was pretty hard, especially since I was using the same classes/races I finished Part 1 with. Never bothered with the new Classes/Races. Gotta say, Eden was a goddamn beast in that battle. Highest damage dealer by far, and she was pretty much unchanged from how I got her aside from a few level-ups.

At any rate, can someone remind me where Promestein's laboratory is, again? Was it near the Tartarus Pit of this part? I feel like it was.

I got fucked over by how many times she kept seducing my characters. Thank god Hilde was immune to it. But I got stuck in a cycle of trying to get everyone out of the temptation status, so I just decided I'd let Luka die and have Ilias focus on healing, Hilde on support, and Eden on damage. Won pretty much soon after, which was nice since, when I got stuck in that cycle, I had completely stopped attacking the boss. It was good to know that I was rather close to beating her.

It was an exciting end to the game. Gonna be a shame when I come back for round 2 with the new top jobs fully leveled. Could always increase the difficulty, I suppose.
