What's a good set to acquire beyond the Wroggi gunslinger stuff? I just killed the female Rathian for the first time in MH3U on Wii. Should I just craft different shit with elemental buffs for situational reasons? Any must have blademaste sets I can get st this point in the game or soon? Only other set that looks decent is that Barroth hit for its attack and defense up skills, but it may be shit, I dunno as I'm still learning the game and how mechanics and statistics work.

Also should I be using that little green bastard in town to help me hunt shit? I haven't even tried multiplayer online yet

I really don't get this argument.

People would very rarely heal in adjacent zones and its not like you can't get away from the monster to heal anymore, they dont seem to chase you very fast even when you want them to.

I'd much rather have psychoserums (which were pointless anyway because experienced players knew were monsters would be) and paintballs. It sure sounds really fun to run around for several minutes hitting up predetermined gathering spots to get enough monster smells so that I get autopaintball for the entire hunt.

It removes all thought. It's there 100% to appeal to casuals who thought the game was too hard and "why do I have to do this dumb animation". Being able to load up on 10 potions, 10 mega potions, mushrooms, herbs, and honey is already an insane amount of healing. And now players don't even really get punished for spamming it.

with gen 4 mechanics the most they can do is allow you to break each tentacle to open a surface you can climb and reworked animations so it actually turns properly.
The one thing I would actually want is for when it gets knocked on the ground it would have to crawl around like a freak trying to bite you while it's deflated body drags

Yama Kurai is about the closest thing to a "puzzle fight" as the series has ever gotten.
If you approach it just by wailing on the legs until it dies it takes forever, but if you do things like hit Thunderbugs back at it, hit the feelers during specific moves, or bop the seeds it sometimes throws off, you can get a lot more knockdowns.

It's a neat idea, but it doesn't work all that well honestly.

One unified moveset > four gimmicky moveset splits.
Styles exist because it is easy to advertise and is powercreep. Styles don't even give variety to your playstyle unlike a single moveset does considering how armor skills can already dictate your preference of playstyle.
Nothing from styles has compared to choosing between going Guard Point Heavy, Akantor SAEDing, or elemental CB.
It is also super easy to simply abandon a style to simply add more instead of balancing each of them
