The difference between neutral and ideal IVs are, at most, 2 points in a single desirable stat.
9/10 times, it really doesn't matter. You just want to avoid critically bad IVs, like being -spd on a speed-reliant unit. The only time ideal IVs are necessary is for a unit that simply does not have the stats to perform their intended role without them. A quad build won't work very well if you're -spd or -atk. A dragon probably doesn't want to be -def, etc.

People get autistic about PERFECT IVs because they've reached the point where they can afford to be picky, not because it's absolutely paramount.

I'll be honest, I just gave mine the vanilla bravebow from a 3* gordin and L&D2 from a 4* Hana and that's alone was enough to put her ahead of every other archer. The extra attack from the 5* equivalents are good but she's a murder-machine even without them, and already outperforms a 5* klein with DB3.
