Bisko is agile, has good guns, and good armor. It can't be citpenned, but takes more AP damage, because the damage model is retarded and we can't do shit about it.

Go for the secondaries meme, play the sniping game and never sail in a straight line; angle yourself, and possibly choose your engagements: in a 1vs1 with manual secondaries you have the upper hand. If you find yourself against a bow on BB you've fucked up.

The problem is it trades half its torpedoes for AA and they're Benson torpedoes for some retarded reason. There was talk of it getting a brand new consumable but so far nothing's been leaked. It needs something practical to set it apart because right now the last thing the game needs is more ships hinged around carriers. But the matchmaking shouldn't be a problem since you're in a Fletcher at tier 8. Tier 9 was already smooth sailing in that thing.

I don't think you understand the minor differences between Fletcher and Benson. The torpedoes are what set it apart. Right now it's essentially a Benson with half the torpedoes but better AA. Yes it's already strong because Benson is already strong. But the Kidd is going to seriously underperform compared to Benson because it has half the torpedoes. In the right hands it may be a better ship, but across the board it is going to come across as underpowered in its current state. It's not even the best AA in tier since the Akizuki exists. You could even argue a C hull Benson is stronger because 5 torps are worth more than that one turret in a lot of situations.

The underlying problem is that carriers are fucked right now and so creating ships based around anti-air is stupid. If they were in a healthy place it'd have more of a role, but it doesn't. This is why it needs something else to distinguish itself. At the very least let it equip speed boost and defensive AA at the same time.

In very simple terms, they spend more tim going up and down and less time going forward.

This means that in average north atlantic conditions, a DD will not be able to keep up with a BB, BC or CA moving at high (i.e. combat) speed.

Take, for example HMS Hood's escorting DDs.
Admiral Holland released them 'if you are not able to keep up' after contact was made by the picketing cruisers in the Denmark Strait because he ordered his BC and BB to high speed.

Well today has been dogshit for me in WoWs. About the only thing I could hit for a half decent number was chain chomp at the start of one match. Every other straight line moving broadside person got shells on either side of them or overpens regardless of ship type. I got damn near to a 1:1 hit/damage ratio in my nagato and colorado. Even free damage off CV's was just 1k salvos sub 10k.

At least my pensacola did okay, even if it does get cit when someone looks your way.

They are basically torpboats with fewer and less damaging torpedoes than IJN DDs but very fast reload time and decent concealment.
So in short, torpboats that can actually defend themselves to some extent with torps not as easily countered as IJN ones.

Russian DDs are basically high speed cruisers useful for skirmishes at medium range, USN DDs are short range DD hunters with decent torps and they're best at contesting capture points.
