What was Khanate/Hotel thinking when he started playing on NA, switching the biological clock to wake up at 1AM to be with NA during their peak time, re-buying all the premium ships and 1+ year of premium? I don't think it's because "NA have a large player base to play with" because we have a semi-active clan on SEA with Kiwis and Aussies. This is a real question btw. The game isn't fun for any veteran player, it's clearly dying, it'll most likely lose half of its player base after summer is over and there are no interesting new lines.

The 12-gun ships especially just wipe out their health bars when they give broadside due to sheer broadside weight. The 16" armed BBs are similar, they're XP farms for ships like the NC and Amagi.

Why would the range difference matter if you're apparently getting to within 13km before you're even spotted? A NM/AZ can easily keep enough distance to stay alive against a Bismarck that's charging into his team to go after him while he/his team focus the Bisko down.
And I'm comparing all tiers from 6 to 10 because my original point was that you can do well against Bismarcks and farm them for credits and XP at literally any tier you face them, you sure as hell don't have to wait until T10.
Sure the Bisko can put up a good fight and do well in general, but if I had to choose any of the T8 BBs I would absolutely choose an NC or Amagi in a match against Bismarck every time I had the chance.

Citadels are not something you can rely on, specially at long range. At and below the 12km range, shoot just slightly above the waterline to get citadels. Even if you don't get cits, you should be able to get some penetrations.
Above that range, try to shoot for the area right below the deck to bypass the armor belt and get penetrations directly on the deck and the casemate armor area.

About positioning, that's something that is a bit harder to learn and you need to experience it. As a general rule, keep your range between 19 and 15 km at the early stages of the game while you gauge the enemy strenght on a flank.

I can't really tell you why they decided to offer battle againstt the German BCs, they knew that the armor was insufficient against their guns.
