Depends on the matchup and the map. You basically just have to find ways to put shots into your enemy without taking too many shots yourself, because the Tiger II has shit armor. Sometimes that means using your gun depression to hide your hull, sometimes that means using your viewrange to keep the enemy at a distance, and sometimes that means playing as a support heavy and only popping out when you can shoot a guy that is reloading. I do recommend putting Optics on your Tiger II unlike a lot of other heavies, since the Tiger II has good viewrange and an accurate gun. That doesn't mean that you should chai snipe every game, though. If you're the only top tier heavy on your team and the map is Malinovka, then you need to go hill otherwise your team is just going to lose because you have no map control.

Yeah, that's the part most people mess up, because they let people shoot at them and then cry when the Tiger's armor doesn't magically ignore 99% of all damage. They don't completely block vision. Hiding behind a bush reduces the range from which the enemy can see you. If you're actually inside the bush or within 15m of it, you can detect pretty normally from within it, and you get good camo when stationary/moving within it, but you lose pretty much all of it when firing. WG doesn't give a shit about anything below tier 10. Their employees probably never even play low or mid tiers. I cannot point this out enough to new players. Learn to use the minimap and your brain and bam you are already better than a vast majority of the kurwas/huehuehues/cyka blyats playing this game.

learn the maps, who goes where (usually) and plan where you go depending on map knowledge, where your team goes and team composition, both yours and the enemy's
learn how to read the events happening right now to predict what will happen a minute from now at least (that shit only comes with lots of battles)
learn stats for every single tank (altho usually you can lump most tanks into categories because as you study them you'll see patterns appear) most useful ones are view ranges, reload times and penetration values
learn how overmatching works and which tanks can be overmatched where and with what
learn how big your tank is so you never accidentally show a weak point
learn to sidescrape and hulldown
learn weak points in the armor, both yours and the enemy (those also follow patterns usually)
hide your weak points, shoot the enemy's
if your team forms a lemming train, FOLLOW THE TRAIN and get somewhere in the middle of it so you can still farm damage like a greedy little jew. "Holding a side" by yourself only means you'll get swarmed and killed with 0 damage unless the other team lemmings into your lemming train which is rare as fuck. If the other team lemmings you still want to be on that side so you can farm like a long nosed quasi human

Yeah armor becomes much more of a knowledge based game after tier 6, typically the general consensus is that you can pen any hatch or belly of a tank. There also is a small reticle in the middle of your screen changing color depending if you are able to pen that armor if it were flat: (Green) Yes (Orange) Maybe (Red) No.

I can also tell you >>176462316 is right when he says to look at tanks in tanks.gg. This helps a lot with trying to see where you can pen certain tanks in certain scenarios.

I'll list off all the tanks I can think of with deceitful armor that I consistently play against that you may want to look at in the future.

T110E3, T110E4, T110E5, Super Pershing, Defender, IS-6, KV-4, ST-I, IS-4, Obj. 268, Obj. 263, Tiger P, Tiger 2, Ferdinand, E50, IS-3, KV-5, Churchills , Centurions, Caernarvon, Conqueror, FV215B, AMX Liberte tier 8 premium thing, O-I Japanese heavies and onwards, Any Chinese heavy tier 8 and onwards, and swedish tanks tier 8 and onwards.

Those are all tanks that you'll need specific knowledge for in order to pen them.

Also if you'd like I can send you a replay or two of me playing at lower tiers, but I do warn that if it is a light tank replay, I've been told that I play them like mediums rather than light tanks; which is much more dangerous to do.

I'm sure there's people in here that still like to laugh at AW, so might get a little kick out of this.

Last week the game was scheduled for a new patch. Silentstalker released an article letting us know about the server downtime to apply the patch, etc. Within a couple of hours the article was pulled and the forum thread was locked with a message telling us that the patch was not coming due to outstanding bugs but will be coming the next week instead.
Fast forward to yesterday, and a similar article is released. Fast forward a couple of hours and the article is pulled again, with a similar but now visibly frustrated message by SS.
This has happened before as well. There was an article about what Obsidian had planned for the game in the future that was quickly removed and I think it was the next day that it became public that the OE dev team was fired.

It has been now probably close to two years since we got anything like a new full line of progression tanks despite a new line or two constantly being promised for "next" patch.
