Sol would be nice keeping him in wary range but you won't beat blues at all but so long as you have a unit that won't die while killing the enemy blue you should be set.

A lot of it can be obtained with low effort or just by naturally following along the map with little opposition. Compare how difficult it is to obtain the treasure on Fuga's Wild Ride in Conquest to a map with treasure in Awakening. My memory is a bit foggy and I haven't played Awakening in years so I might get something wrong.

It's honestly not surprising that casuals (most non-elitists) would prefer to grind and steamroll a RNG game. It's simply the case that your run gets ended by missing 3 attacks and your healer getting crit, instead of Kefka randomly choosing to Havoc Wing your healer instead of Sabin. Even if losing your healer doesn't force a reset, that was an actual character that people are more likely to appreciate and want to keep, since the series has grown since the days of Riff and Doga. In x-com resetting is poor form since the units are generics without unique personalities and designs and support convos and stuff.

2500 feathers for scoring 4k+ is still there, as well as 500 for 250+ defense score(although having bonus units in your defense team now counts towards defense score)
The new ranking system is something to do within your tier and how well you do compared to everyone else, so it'll probably still be bullshit but hopefully not as much, and you now just get feathers based on what tier you're in.

Where should I look for tips about best pairings in Fates Revelation? Awakening had tables of best hubbies and waifus sorted by "ranks", couldnt find such for Revelation.

But positioning matters more in FE than any other SRPG? In FFT, you can leave your units in front of the entire enemy force and it doesn't matter because it's just a JRPG on a grid. It's designed for units to take hits. In FE, avoiding damage at all is the highest priority unless the unit is a defense beast.

The only really iffy thing about thracia is:

The maps are generally simple, but nice and can on rare occasion pack an interesting surprise (except the trapped teleport room you can't escape, fuck that room). The enemies all tend to have low stat totals, mostly working together to overwelm you, so it's easy to get through with some planning.
