Cavalry because they don't get obliterated by an entire weapon type, and the extra range means it's much harder to work around them when the AI blitzes toward you. It's basically the opposite of the reason that Armour teams are garbage for defense; 1 movement means they can just be safely kited and dealt with at the attacker's leisure.
Good defense teams are all about letting the AI blitz the player and get kills as fast as possible, hopefully causing a domino effect as their team falls apart.

That's the SP right after hitting 40, trying to take it as slow as possible while stamina costs were cheap. It's just night and day the difference double SP made, Hector/Azura were able to have complete builds with basically no extra grinding after hitting 40.

They really need to bring those back, they were amazing from a game design perspective. Battle saves are obviously too broken and abuseable, but the single-use save points are controlled and balanced, and allow for permanent progress through a long level without splitting it into multiple parts and making both halves of the level feel too small, for instance.

To answer your question; Enemy placement and map design. The hexing rod has the same range as the falcon knights guarding him, if I risk baiting them I'll get one to the face and I'm not even sure if the flying ponies move. I could go player phase maniac one shotting everything there, but logistics fuck me over since that's only possible using upward winds from the southeast and the bridge can only support so many units. I have a decent amount of high Res units (Kaze, Leo, Elise, Felicia to some extent, Niles).

There will be another Fates paralogue/chapter for sure simply because Corrin hasn't been an opponent in any chapter so far. Similarly neither Azura, Gunter, Jakob nor Felicia made an appearance as enemies in the story so far. Corrin is currently the only lord in-game not featured in the campaign.

So they'll do another Fates banner with new units like Kaze, Silas, Lilith, Kana and such which will tie into a new chapter where the Guardians of Askr have to battle against Corrin and his retainers at the end.

Fire Emblem doesn't use real probability, at least not for FE 6-12.

Though you're still right, you should plan for any % but 0 or 100 to be a miss for you or a hit for them and be prepared for that result.

Someone told me Fates has hit rates that lie. Is this true? I thought Fates was one of the only Fire Emblem games that doesn't lie to you about hit rates.

It's been a while since I've played, so excuse me if I get something wrong. I have 2 ideas.

The first is to try using a dragon vein when the wind on Hayato's position is blowing downwards. I believe the Pegasus knights are susceptible to being moved by it, but Hayato isn't because he literally can't move. Just be careful they don't buttblast you afterwards.

My other suggestion is to move someone with such high DEF that the Pegasus Knights can't damage them at all. The obvious choice is Xander with a DEF pair up. Even if your bait gets hexed the Pegasi will move out, but not attack. I forget if they also come with Dual Naginatas, but they probably do. If that's the case then you might want to de-equip weapons from your mule so that they can't get fucked by the x2 weapon triangle disadvantage.

Other helpful tips are to use tonics + the kitchen.

It's not that dumb of an idea. Breath of Life and Reciprocal Aid means she can heal people near her when attacking, so that if she needs to she can take health for herself, or simply take an allies full health with RA and then heal them back up with Breath of Life.
