Primal team only did two practice games while the Aether team that made it to finals had been training together for months.

DRK and AST are just as good as PLD and WHM. The buffs pushed DRK into secret top tier, and because they had an AST instead of WHM, they didn't have to worry about overlapping binds as much. DRK's bind is just as good as PLD stuns with proper utilization of line of sight, and DRK adds a significantly higher amount of pressure to the healer than a PLD would. Having essentially two full swings is heavily underrated.

Healer had to deal with what was essentially 3 DPS being on them and two full swings with sole survivor and full swing. It's hard to have enough purifies to get rid of both. Then you have AST which can throw out balances, arrows, and boles which also helps with killing and surviving.

Of course Aetherfags will desperately try to convince themselves that they were at a team comp disadvantage.

They really don't because DRK has more uptime on their abilities than PLD does because DRK has a lot of important skills with low cooldowns. DRK is also significantly more efficient at regenerating MP than PLD is. DRK's good cooldowns are sometimes even a 1/3rd of the time of PLD's good cooldowns. All while outputting very solid damage. Damage that's nearly comparable to a DPS's damage.

Sleep is overrated. WHM doesn't have superior healing either. That leaves you with Fluid Aura, which while really good when coupled with sleep, it's not enough to put it over the versatility and utility of AST cards.

Sacred Prism is practically a necessity when you're up against a comp that's pretty much 3 DPS.

Synastry is a pseudo-Divine Seal too. Lightspeed is better than Presence of Mind, and you're ignoring the strength of Retrogradation. Testudo can be removed with Retro and One Ilm Punch. Carnal Chill is much more difficult to deal with and far more potent while having a significantly lower cooldown.
