To do higher DPS you need to use optimal foods and pots. And also have a team that debuffs the enemy and an ARC that gives you the balance card.

I posted on this general a couple days ago about my shit bard dps pulling around 1600 and thinking it was pretty good and some anons told me it was shit for 250.

I just sat on a SSS dummy for hours and picked up little things that I noticed were costing me dps, and overall cleaning up my rotation. Now I'm pulling over 2000 on almost every run.

There were obviously some serious issues with my rotation but even after getting over them I couldn't tell you what half of them probably were since I don't know. Its just shit that got purged out naturally when I banged my head against a target dummy. It seems to me like XIV is a game of inches where even the smallest fuck ups can equate to hundreds of dps loss

My keybinds aren't really thought out, I'm just too lazy to fix them up. It's worked well enough though. I have snap punch combo on 1-2-4 and demolish combo on shit 1-2-4. I try to save 3 for any stuns since I'm used to that from another mmo.

I'm looking for some info from someone who played at HW launch

With the new classes they added what was the general situation regarding those new classes? Like the reputation a "month one AST/MCH/DRK" player had.

I have a lot of interest in trying out and maining RDM because it was my favorite job in FFXI and in the FF series I have always liked them a lot. But I don't know if I could if there's going to be 2 billion new shitters sullying their name and getting into a "oh wow there's a RDM in this group, kick me or afk" kind of stuff. What was it like in HW with the new jobs?

High demand minions are pretty good, as are grade V materia. You can also invest in some of the more rare housing items, such as cherry trees. Allagan silver/gold/platinum pieces and clear demimateria are good in the sense that you know you WILL get atleast the NPC value for them. If you're transferring to a more populated server, you're likely to make net loss pretty much no matter what.

I like to think utility goes a long way. As a bard for example people tend to say nice things about me if I use a song for them or WP when a warrior berserks. And even if bards were on the shittier side for damage their utility still is a big asset to groups.

Well, let's look. Heavy Shot is 150 potency. Venomous Bite is 100 with 40 dot potency, so if it lives long enough to tick twice, it's better than heavy shot. Windbite is 60 with 50 potency, so again, if it lives long enough to tick twice, it was the better option.

Realize too that dots tick on a seperate timer regardless of when they were applied, so it's possible for the dot to tick a split second after you apply it.

Was going glad/pal just because I love sword and board tanking but the past few dungeons have been a nightmare with healers who almost never heal and just keep trying to dps and dps that are pulling every single enemy that I'm not currently smacking in the face leaving me mostly running around spamming flash/provoke and slapping shit trying to grab aggro back so they'll stop running for their lives.
