Anyone play the PK rebalance mod on cata?
Do electric cars cause tiles around it to be radiated? The street outside my base and around a car has high levels of radiation from something, idk what. PK mod added zombies taht make tiles permanently radioactive, but my street has been clear of zombies for almost an in game year and the radiation spike wasn't until recently, been using the street without getting any rads for three seasons
Found a cleansuit so its mostly negligible, still had to savescum a ton to find out where the 300 rads were suddenly coming from though, kept driving over the hot tiles and getting roasted.
Would like to know what caused it though.
The electric car seems to be solar powered too, so I don't think that's it, but idk.

PCB is a descendant of a number of variants that were intended to be "everything and also the kitchen sink." There's more of every type of content (classes, damage types, items, dungeons, etc). The game text is not always as serious as Vanilla ("Wormtongue, Agent of Sauron moons you!") and generally a lot more insanity exists. A lot more things have a random factor, e.g. exactly when you get your turn, exactly how much your "30%" resistance will actually resist this attack, 1/666 chance for Smeagol to drop The One Ring, that sort of thing.

Sil is a variant that goes in the opposite direction from vanilla. It's strictly first age Tolkein and is a lot more streamlined in terms of fewer types of monsters/items/etc.

Vanilla is more even-keeled but once I played it for a while I got bored.

Tons of additional races and classes; various quests instead of just killing Sauron and Morgoth; a handful of different dungeons instead of just Angband; different skill mechanics; and some other things. If Angband is almost entirely a Tolkien-inspired game, then Poschengband is influenced by a wide variety of genres.

If you've never played *band, it's hard to appreciate what PCB has to offer. Playing vanilla Angband and getting truly acquainted with it will help you understand how PCB's features are more than just bloat.

It's a fork of a fork of a fork of a fork of poschengband which is in itself a fork of (...) of a fork of moria, so it's keeping the tradition alive.

Basically it's just PCB, but with some quality of life changes that will make it more bearable in the long run, like being able to examine mosnters and knowing what they do (oh hey this thing can kill me dead three times in a row if I stay in its line of sight and even if I don't it'll teleport me next to it!) which is really good and you'd have to cheat it otherwise.
Also easy_id gives you autoidentification at level 25 so you don't have to waste time ID'ing every single piece of wood you come across.

you can get detect doors, preferably from staff (sometimes available at the 6 shop) or later a rod. You can use the scrolls too in a pinch, though I don't usually buy many of them unless I'm trying to dive some dungeon and need stair detection and don't have a staff/rod yet.

Also, there's a trick I found that helps. Once you're a bit used to the dungeon generation, if you are pretty sure there's a door somewhere and don't want to bother (or keep failing) to search for it, just tunnel its tile. a half-titan cavalry may want to probe potential mounts so he can choose one with above-average speed and hp

is it early enough in the game for this to be worth wielding? It's pretty solid, save only for 2d8 dice with no +atks, and heavy on acc over to-dam. Vamp AND slay evil is relaly nice though, and obviously 5 speed is ringlesque
