Guys clarify something to me. The other 12 orbital bases are aware that humans are dead right? The only ones who don't know are the disposable older androids (resistance) and yorha, right? Or its just an small group (with Zinnia obviously) that knows about this and all of the android illuminati conspiracy?

He's looking at Q45 in the strategy guide Q&A where it says that there is no group or organization that commands all the fighting forces.
But the way I see it,like you said, is that they have a Joint Chiefs of Staff.
All the branches and whatnot work together but none are ever higher rank than the other.
In that way there is no higher rank commanding the technically separate forces aside from the Council of Humanity of course.
After all in the timeline their combined forces are called the "Army of Humanity" and sometimes the "Android Army"

You can not add hair sprays or DLC costumes after the DLC patch, without buying the DLC at least. Or maybe you can't add them at all I dunno I haven't bought the DLC. I don't think I will either it costs a lot!

And apparently we can do texture mods but I dunno how, model swaps will probably never happen due to rigging and what not, we've had a few people look into swapping characters in real-time and nothing came from that so it seems unlikely.

I agree with you on this, tho as other anon said, the Android Army seems to have a Joint Chief Staff. One of the logs in Automata is ultra classified and says that only units with SS permissions could see them. Maybe the leader/chief of every bunker/ army branch knows the truth, but only them, that would be a circle of 12 androids, hypothetically speaking outside of Zennia and his creations.

Theres also a high possibility that the ''android illuminati'' circle is formed by OG androids, and also as other anon side, i wouldn't be a surprise if some OG androids silenced/ persecuted other OG androids.

We see 2B and 9S at the start of route C in space in the flight units watching the Bunker explode and they weren't wearing any kind of spacesuit or anything.

Maybe the same magic whateveritis that is shown immediately thereafter shielding the flight units during reentry also keeps androids from having problems in vacuum but there's nothing that actually shows that.

Buying this game a few weeks back on Steam on a whim despite the full price was the best decision ever. I am in love with this game and the more I play it, the more I feel invested. I just completed NG++ so the full storyline basically and now working towards the DLC content.

Androids probably don't need air to operate, but they do their best to imitate their human gods. It's implied that they speak using synthetic vocal chords, their internal body fluid isn't blood but it's colored like it, they have a "pulse", and they even share some of the same human structural vulnerabilities. 9S is "choked" to death, probably not due to asphyxiation, but due to cutting off the flow of that red goo to his synthetic brain.

Hell, in the Q&A it's stated that they can "upgrade" themselves with reproductive organs and can mimic pregnancy if they wanted to.

It's a lot jankier and grindier than Automata, but the cast,story, and music is top tier. The only problem is that Automata pretty much spoils the major plot twist of Nier, but I think it's worth it for the character interactions alone.

well, from memory thorn we now know what that choice was. They were trapped in the cycle together because they choose to do so. 2B could very well sudoku long before and god knows what 9S would do without her being his monitor(we actually know this as well - be nihilistic edgelord and most likely go insane at some point).

Has anyone else found the Mysterious Object in the DLC? It's near the end of Plato's last journal and it's super fucking weird. It doesn't say anything and the bot infront of it doesn't either. It emits a weird sound that I think is the music video heavily processed, but there are some inconsistencies. If anyone knows what the sound actually is, I'd love to know myself.

DoD1 picks up after the DoD3 novelization, not from Ending D.
In the Novelization, Zero makes a pact with Mikhail to save him from death, turns into a child and is immediately killed by Brother One. Brother One then goes on to be the leader of the church of the angels / cult of the watchers, and creates the Seal system after the queen beast starts tampering with the world.

The guy who translated the dod1 complete guide book had his own web page, kho dazat who translated the dod3 prequel novellas (and later removed them because got an official translation) and the three world inside novellas used to post them on tumblr, and now has his own web page if I am not mistaken, rekka alexiel also used to post on tumblr and her own webpage (though she is incapable of finishing a translation to save her life) while the original grimoire nier translation used google docs, except for the witch's banquet which was also posted by kho dazat on tumblr

I think the aliens didn't even know about maso and discovered it on Earth, probably found the remains of infected maso as well and used it to make machine life forms (they obviously use the same red beams as Grimoire or Devola / Popola). Could probably work well enough for the machine life forms and they successfully pushed Emil clones out of their territories or destroyed them (80% of Earth was controlled by the machines).
The infected maso could easily explain their red eyes and the logic virus but I don't think it's just the same WCS or red eye decease since it targeted humans with souls and not the machines. Guess they just developed the technology or copied it in the same fashion. Probably found the traces of Red Eye and used his remains.

Should I buy the DLC? I really want more since I've done all but Reconnaissance Squad and the one for the archives with Pascal, but it's hard to justify the price tag for something with little story relevance and meme boss fights.

Most of the new stuff is in the timeline and Q&A (and I guess the short stories too), but the story portion of the guide is written from the perspective of 9S, 2B and A2 depending on route and goes into inner monologue at times, which reveals a bit more of what each character is feeling at certain parts of the story. For example, how 9S doesn't actually remember 2B at the prologue mission but feels compelled to save her data first; all the machine lifeform flashbacks are actually memories that 9S sees as a result of hacking the machines (I thought this detail was kinda neat, made sense how the backstories only showed up in route B), and 9S feels a deep 'connection' with 2B as she's strangling him to death (implying the implications) and all he thinks about is her fingers on his throat and how warm it is.

Route C/D descriptions are kinda funny to read side by side because A2's side is mostly pure narration while 9S side is having an existential breakdown. He really goes off the deep end after seeing A2 kill 2B, and the book confirms that virus corruption is definitely responsible for some of his degenerate behavior, and by the time he begins scaling the tower the only thing he still holds on to are his feelings for 2B.

Taro had nothing to do with DoD2 and it isn't connected to anything in the timeline, so you can safely skip that.

As for 1 and 3, they are shit gameplay wise so only play them if you're really interested in more of Taro's writing and experimental game design. As for DoD3, the translation is fucking abysmal because it completely alters the personality of the main character, but if you want it in JP voices you actually have to pay for it. And even if the voices are in Japanese, all the text will still have that shitty translation, and there are some spoken lines that don't have text, so you'll basically have no clue what they're saying. It's shitty either way.

What's the best / your most preferred combination of weapons in Nier: Automata?

Been rolling with Light sword / Heavy sword and Fists / Spear. Seems to cover the most ground for versatility at least, but I'm getting a little bored of light sword / heavy sword.

What's the best way to grind level snow that the whole bunny thing has been patched out? I only hit like 60 by the end of the main game and the later Colosseum fights all seem to be balanced for 80+

I've played it and it's atrocious. It reminds me of early 3D games where nobody knew how to make combat that worked. Except Drakengard came out in 2003. This was after Devil May Cry and only a year before Ninja Gaiden, for the record. It's unacceptable. The "hurr it's supposed to be shit on purpose" excuse doesn't change the fact that it's a terrible game.

Drakengard 1 is a straight up bad game. Even as a fan of musou games, it's just not enjoyable to play and incredibly tedious to go through. If you really want to give it a shot then you can get through it with an emulator these days, but if you aren't enjoying yourself after like the first hour just know that the rest of the game is just that over and over again

Yes, much better. It plays like a worse version of Automata. Weiss acts similar to the pods, combat isn't as flashy but has mostly the same weapon types, big emphasis on evasion rather than blocking (you roll instead of dashing). It plays pretty well overall, it's just too easy.

DoD1 OST was made by Nobuyoshi Sano and Takayuki Aihara, personally I like it, only few songs can come close to NieR/Automata though.

DoD3 OST was made by Keiichi Okabe but Taro told him to make the music fundamentally different from NieR. Almost all the boss tracks are pretty shit compared to the rest of the OST, it's better than most JRPGs but still lower than NieR/Automata in my opinion.

How? At level 61 I assume you got all of the main endings as well as chapter select. Go to the amusement park during a later chapter as 9S and wail on it until it aggros. Then hack it until it dies. It's easy.
