Could I get some recommendations regarding the 6* abilities? I've got my sights on Meltdown since I landed Alphinaud's BSB. I like the sound of Curada but being kind of unable to hone it I doubt its a good idea. Crushdown and Ultima, the only dungeons I cleared before i quit, back when it was new, seem like utter shit. The other combat one seems cool but I'm worried about the power levels needed to make it good from what I read in the PDF.

Anything in that nightmare thing really good or deceptively good?

Omega Drive.
Ultima MIGHT become decent with all the new Torment dungeons coming up along with all-element resist fuckers, but wait on that for now.
With Alph, Valigarmanda is kind of a no-brainer.
Curada is good, if you have a healer BSB. You can use it till the big medica needs to get rolling, however we still only have it at R1, even after collecting every crystal since their inception.
Arguments can be made for Neo-Baha as well, some ones as for Ultima.
The rest are pretty much trash.
Do not ever let anyone convince you about Northern Cross, Interrupt is irrelevant nowadays for any hard content where it would actually be needed.
Presented with the option, always choose Snowspell Strike instead of Northern Cross.

I think you should be able to get both and both are really good.
The biggest power with Vali is that it has 1 or at best 2 uses and then it's gone.
With Alph BSB you can regenerate that one cast and keep exploiting those sweet weaknesses.
But take into account that bosses started to become resistant to all elements besides the weakly event's featured new toy, so a non elemental approach might be more viable again in the future.

A meme build I was thinking of was using Genji glove to equip two mics on her. The other accessory can be an Earring if you have one. Symphonic Flair, Encore, Ultima, and another Mag materia should give her some decent dps.

Most likely the deal is your last sub ended after the cut-off point for those eligible.
If not that, did you only play during the original version of the free trial which was only for a couple days? You'll need to buy the game to be eligible.
Otherwise, the issue may be that the time you played last time was on a different platform than what you're playing now. You can only play it on the platform you bought the game from.

XIV is entry level tier MMO, specifically to get newbies into the genre. It's fine if you play the free month/free login periods and beat the main stories of ARR & Heavensward. Only reason you'd ever want to sub or resub is if you want to try and complete side-quest things.

FF lands more on the medieval high fantasy side of things. I think you're looking for something like Phantasy Star or Star Ocean. I don't think I've ever found myself wanting FF purely in space, it does what it does pretty nicely and the bits of scifi here and there are nice touches.

It's pretty alright. Can't speak for hw, but arr was pretty cozy. The grind isn't that bad outside of the relic and getting maxed crafting gear (geared crafting friend helps there though), the maps were pretty nice, and crafting was rather engaging since it's an actual class.
Everyone memes about 2.5 gcd, but it isn't nearly that bad either.
Only shitty part is there isn't much use for gil outside of housing, which is slightly good because making money got ridiculous.
Plenty of references too. Ultros and Gil are part of a fun side story, there was an event once where Shitning showed up (got her hair and outfit for doing it) and a bunch of other shit that i'm sure has increased in hw.
It's still an mmo though, so it isn't for everyone. There is a 2 week free trial, but it really wasn't that helpful.

Around 800 fish with a Kefka, 2 Terras, and a Setzer running with 800+MAG Trance Terra friends on ELT. So a 325% bonus with a couple of Nerapa spawns here and there with 1-2 gold bombs sprinkled in.

There are actually quite many times they do.

I has the floating castle. IV has the moon. V has planetary meteors, but they start to show it within atmosphere so it doesn't quite count. VI has a view from space when Kefka has his fun. VII has the rocket. VIII has the futuristic sealing station. IX has space imagery in the pen-ultimate dungeon, but that doesn't count either even if it's story relevant. X has Sin's Giga-Graviton FMV. XIII-2 has literal space in Oerba before you fix the Paradox.

Anyway you shouldn't want S-E to make space themed game, because, instead of the picture, they'll just put Gundams into it.

You never want to run mixed because it's just that much harder to buff/debuff for.
And Exdeath is squishy, only really suitable for arena (which he's still king of).
There are some fights that specifically require mages (Bloody Moon being the only real example, GL likes to add in more). Otherwise physical is the way to go.

Several in XI mind their own business because early on in XI's life either a character could be found in a specific place, or they'd be only in cutscenes - autonomy like one sees in escort missions, later game mission battles, the adventuring fellow system and trust alter egos came later.

It's pretty simple to imagine Lion tagging along as a party member when you meet her, when your nation sends you to other nations, and sticking with you until you finish the Zilart story, maybe returning after Apocalypse Nigh.
There are moments where characters become unavailable (pretty much happens to all "mission girls" at some point), but that's not unlike Shadow in FF6. Iroha could join early and drop off often, for example...

Existing quests could change a bit - Ayame is usually the one to send you on the moblin-related quests, but in a single-player version she could join you until you're done with those, or stick around for the Bastok mission finale, or anything involving Norg - just the dialog possibilities in the Trust system could give some hints on how a more "canonical" presence in player parties could work.

The current Trust system is neat, but had it been implemented much earlier in the game's life, it could work not unlike this instead.

They will get a powerful rod and Rod Mastery exists eventually but mages lack the chain game right now since the best chainers for mages right now haven't come out yet. Dark Fina's ultima enhancement, Trance Terra's Chaos Wave and later Quake from William are the best that mages can do with chaining.

William and Eileen chains are pro to have since Eileen has the imperil that William likes to abuse. Anyone going for Eileen should also go for William on Cloud's banner since he's a pretty good mage and there's a chance you can pull the big prize of his banner, Cloud himself.

Nah, it gets around that rule. The compu rule is that you can't have multiple different items combined to create a super item.
