Caestus are easy to win with because perseverance is a retard-check, but it's mostly harmless against good players. It's a gimmick. People point down when they win because it's a meme made popular by some e-celeb. They'll point down every time they win, no matter what they were fighting against.

I've remade my faith build like 4 times. Faith was already one of the most fun playthroughs and every time they buff/fix something, it gets even more fun. Some advice:
Go in with an empty offhand. As I'm sure you've already noticed, you get fucked over by the genuinely terrible collision of the dancer's legs with the dagger's 1H moveset, so if you empty your offhand then you can retain access to quickstep, which makes dealing with her spammy multihit and delayed hit patterns in phase 2 easier.

Speedruns in botw are actually pretty neat. There's no content required to complete before facing the final boss, so they do a little bit of quick prep and they run straight to the castle. All of the bosses of the different dungeons appear there in a powered-up form if you haven't killed them in their respective dungeons, so it turns into an endgame bossrush with a 3-heart character. One mistake is a run wipe.

Jesus christ, can they look any less invested into life and death combat? That clip illustrates pretty well one of my issues with animations in DaS2. Apart from everything being so fucking weird and floaty, none of the weapon swing animations looked like the character MEANT it, if that makes sense.

You only get 1 set of chunks for each upgrade path, after that you have to grind a LOT. So if you start an upgrade path for a weapon, that's going to be the only weapon you have for that upgrade.

Go through the game 1-1 > 2-1 > 3-1 instead of 1-1 > 1-2 > 1-3. Otherwise you'll be OP for worlds 4 and 5 and struggle with 2-2 and 3-2.

Female and Male don't share all armors. Male armor looks better but female has some armor with special effects (including a 10%+ souls item)

There are no homeward bones and archstones/bonfires are only at the beginning of a level, so if you do ANY sort of grinding, get the

Damage differences between certain elements and types (thrust, slash, strike) are huge. Don't stick to just one weapon or upgrade. Longsword's R2 thrust > claymore's R2 slash, despite having lower AR, because thrust is just stronger against.

Play offline. PvP is horrifying

Look up how world tendency works:
>If you die while human, the game gets harder but drops more souls and items.
>If you beat a boss, the game gets easier but drops fewer souls and items.
>Special events if you hit -3 or +3 (start at 0)

Crystal lizards respawn for each boss you kill in a world (3 kills = 4 total spawns). They will disappear EVEN IF THEY BURROW. So if you miss a crystal lizard, you always lose possible items. If you miss or kill a lizard 4 times, it's gone forever.

To get max drops from lizards you have to make the game pure black world tendency and kill every lizard until it no longer respawns, and then repeat the process for every boss you kill. It's generally not really worth it.

Don't buy grass or spices, farm them off of enemies.

All weapons within a class have the same moveset and scaling. Most later weapons you get are just slightly (10%) better versions of previous weapons, like bastard sword and claymore. Since upgrade materials are rare, either save your upgrades for better versions later, or just upgrade the first one you get and ignore later versions.

All scaling in DeS is pretty simple. Upgrading a weapon will double its damage. Leveling up a stat to 99 will double it's damage (and you get 80% of that boost at 50). So if a weapon has a base damage of 100, you can expect a level 99 scaling +10 version to have 400 damage.

Normal path is your DS1 raw path. Sharp, Refined, or Heavy paths are your DS1 normal path. Dragon is your DS1 fire/lightning path. Easy mode is to go dragon upgrade on a spear, and dump all your stats into magic.

It also means that thew Ringed City was one of Vendrick's stops in "The Land of the Giants," which also implies that the actual kingdom he raided was somewhere geographically close to where we find the Ringed City. In other words, either Lothric, or that land before it became the kingdom of Lothric. The Kiln and the throne were taken from that land and brought back, and eventually retrieved some time later, long after Drangleic fell, and returned to Lothric.

Since the Lothric Knight descriptions mentions them having once contended with dragons and adopting lightning weaponry (LK xbow, lightning urn, LKGS) to face them, it's likely that Lothric was part of "The Land of the Giants" that Drangleic fought against.

This also means that when Aldia speaks of 'the roots of our world' he's talking from first hand experience, as he likely saw the Ringed City for himself and learned there the truth about humankind and the "Lord of Light" that he mentions. This is why he shares the overgrown rooty motif with the Dreg Heap Lothric Knights and Harald Legion. The First Sin was the Gods turning on mankind and sealing their power with fire. This is also why Vendrick talks about using Fire to harness Dark, the two are inextricable where humans are concerned due to the seal.

Depends how many times you do it. Trying the same thing up to say 3 times is fine, for example. It helps you determine whether something really doesn't work or if it was just a mistake on your part that cause it to fail.
