The only thing to remember against Oceiros is to not stand in front of him during his feral second phase. The whole front of his body does 70-100% of your life when he rushes forward and he'll do it without warning. It was the stupidest shit I had to learn the hard way when I was going through the game SL1. LOL Rush insta-killed xD

I don't know if it's the same in DS3, but I liked in DS2 that you could get your own drops by cooping that were independent from the host or other phantoms. When I didn't know if you could I would always wait around for the host to pick shit up and they never would.
I ended up farming the visible Aurous set by cooping Flexile in NG+ for like 12 hours.
