Not that I've found. You could try War Never Changes. I never got to try it 'cause I don't have the DLC. Immersive Gameplay was kinda dumb when I tried it. Had raiders tanking 15 chest shots of 7.62mm.

What I've been using is a mix of NPC Limited Ammo, Loot Overhaul, and most of the Arbitration modules. Kinda lackluster, and I'm still looking for stuff to add though.

Got anything for just a perk overhaul? PIPBOI got discontinued, Nuclear Perks is made by Darren, Perkwork could have been the holy grail but is discontinued and you only have a 50% chance of starting your game.

Not really. The vanilla perk options blow, and I've yet to see one that makes them not suck shit. I'm using a few of the options from Makanar's Perk Options and Gunplay (Automatic Weapon Perks Rebalanced), those are more for making the perks slightly more appealing shades of brown if anything.

If there IS a good perk overhaul, I would love to know about it, but last time I looked there wasn't anything great. Maybe I'll look again.

I think the biggest hurdle of DM is crippled limbs. You don't get to bring your own doctor bags and I don't think there are many of the stuff necessary to craft poultice or hydra. I don't personally use it because back in the day JSawyer.esp would not work well, even with just YUP, it was a bit on the crashy side. So I wound up using my own modification using PN as a base (I know, Project Nevada is pleb central, but it has a lot of built in stuff so it's a convenient streamlined package). I have looked at this "JSUE" a bit, but it seems to adds a lot of random optional things I'm not necessarily a fan of. I do like it's basic premise, about adding JSawyer's rebalance via scripts to make it more compatible with other mods. But it does seem big and fluffy, and I've already been through that bs with PN so I'm not ready to commit to another overhaul tweaking session anytime soon.

I disagree about character overhauls, I think they are all garbage. Hi-res eyes, Hair normalmap fixes for the saran-wrap shine, and better skin and face textures improves NPCs a ton, especially with improved lighting. In any case visual stuff I don't consider real essentials (the LOD noise texture is the only one I consider essential, and that's because it's very subtle but is a marked improvement on the distant landscape from vanilla).

I think the NPCs in NV are better than vanilla FO3 myself. Also hi-res eyes and decent skin and normalmap/specular texture goes a surprisingly long way. Most character overhauls wind up changing NPC races, get over-detailed, and add more than simply "improving" the "potato faces". Of the main characters, NV isn't that bad, Boone and Veronica are the only really ugly ones, but in general people look alright (especially with improved eyes and skin textures as I've said).

I'm saying this as someone who was a fan of Project Beauty in FO3, too. That in FO3 was much more minimal but greatly improved looks; I hoped there would be one similar in NV, but all the character overhaul mods in NV just got way too big and beyond the general scope in my opinion (although I stopped looking after settling on skin textures).

Ghouls look way different in FO4, too. I would consider it more a stylistic choice rather than evidence of the groups being specifically different (although I do agree that most of the FO4 Super Mutants are probably Institute created and culturally different from the DC ones).

I've honestly been using NVR3 because it does seem to improve most of the game, but I'm also using FNVedit to "fix" a lot of the dumb shit the author did.

He took the welding mask off of Cook-Cook.

Removed Cass' hat and Veronica's hood.

And then Red Lucy there looks nothing like the original, so I've actively gone in and made changes where applicable.

Supposedly a majority of these fucktarded decisions boil down to the author's misguided belief that "characters whose faces you can't see aren't memorable".

I think the assumption that all modders only produce work for downloads is a bit of a shallow analysis of a group's character..

While I'm sure we all know two individuals that do, many folks like Buffscale make mods to satiate their desires for things that don't exist in the base game.

It's far more reasonable IMO that people have a taste in aesthetics that isn't the same as ours, which seems to be a minority opinion.

My SS could either upgrade him to age (using the Institutes facilities), or make a synth copy of himself and Nora to raise him once my SS becomes a certain age and synth Shaun becomes aware of his state.

The Institute could place them in a controlled environment and watch how the synth parents take care of the synth child. Wouldn't that be beneficial to whatever they're planning to do with Gen 3s?

Or simply tell synth Shaun the truth on your death bed, or after a certain amount of time goes by where synth Shaun questions why he can't age, maybe tell Codsworth and Curie they'll be his new parents. Anyone know of any mods that add custom projectiles that "split apart" multiple times during their lifetime?

I know the MIRV addon for the Fatman "kinda" does that. A unique barrel that fires a 25 foot in diameter ball of plasma that explodes into 4 smaller projectiles and each of those projectiles explodes into 10 smaller projectiles. Anything caught in the path of the ball of plasma is instantly gooified, and it passes through people before exploding, doesn't immediately explode on contact.

Basically I'm curious to see if I can replicate the Super Plasma Cannon from Nuclear throne.

The combat is balanced around the fact that the real challenge of the mod is scavenging resources (ammo, bandages, food, etc.) between quests. This thing was kinda fun to tinker with but it doesn't feel very...useful. Shooting it indoors or at floors / walls causes it to glitch out and insta kill you with all of the plasma balls for some reason instantly hitting you at once the second the main projectile hits something before exploding on its own. I guess Nuclear Throne weapons don't translate very well into 3D.

Well...its got a glitch that I don't know how to fix. The main projectile runs on a 2.5 second timer, explodes, and all the smaller projectiles shoot out and blow up. BUT if it hits a mesh before detonation time is up, ALL of the damage from its explosion and smaller projectiles explosions seems to go 100% straight back to you....like...what.

Way too big of a question and proposition. I've been modding since shortly after the game came out, and I'm still not satisfied with my LO.
Most of the guides on available mods are outdated anyway, and leave out important problems with many of them, not the least of which is compatibility.
Probably a good starting point would be to grab some of the most-endorsed mods on the Nexus, and merge that with bits of other people's LOs or something. Beyond that, just look for what you want. Not enough settlement crap for you? Get those types. Looking for more weapons? Get some of the nice weapon mods.
Before you do anything though, probably install AWKCR + Armorsmith. Getting that sorted _before_ you have compatbility problems will save you a lot of headaches, from experience.

They don't damage themselves or the SS with that perk, but the explosion still appeared under them as well even though it shouldn't. I'm really at a loss as to why it does that.

Sitting here in FO2 debating my course of action. I have the free upgrade from Skeeter. I am thinking to use it on either the standard Assault Rifle or the FN FAL. The AR upgrade gives me a 100 round drum and 100 rounds of free ammo. The FN FAL gives me a night sight and 20 rounds of free ammo. The FN FAL uses a rarer ammo that lacks the damage bonus of the AR's 5mm rounds (despite being a bigger bullet). But that night sight sounds fun. Nullifies the darkness penalty to aiming.

Bonuses do not matter that much in old Fallouts. How accurate guns are depends mostly on their max range. If gun's max range is huge, it will be accurate up close. If max range is shitty, it will have shitty accuracy except for closest range. You can only compensate it a little bit with 150%+ gun skill.

I think Fallout 1 is the perfect length but I also agree with how spare it is.
I was replaying it recently and I was taken aback by how easy and simple it actually is too, it doesn't take long for you to become a fully fledged character with good weapons and resources and that's without sequence breaking.

New California Republic and Vault City are good areas in the game too but yeah, San Francisco is probably the worst part of the game.

The Legion doesn't follow Caesar's ideals (because he hasn't really established any), but Caesar himself. When he dies, the Legion dies. Sure, Lanius will be carving a path through anyone in his way, but they'll revert to hundreds of warring tribes after 5 years. It doesn't help that the Legion, according to the gamepedia page, doesn't actually produce resources or wealth, but attains it from raids and war. The only option I see the Legion surviving is if the Courier sides with them and is named Caesar's heir, but that itself would depend the Courier's (likely untested) ability to lead.

Dude, not a single faction in New Vegas is "muh one dimensional." The NCR is the most powerful yet it is rife with corruption. They overextend their army and place settlers at risk. They're more of a "democratic people's republic of california" than a true republic. Despite their flaws though, they've done alot.

The Legion is led by a brutal autocrat that enslaves all in his path, but he doesn't do it to be "evil", he does it because he believes it is necessary for the foundation of his future empire. Slavery isn't exacty unique to CL either. Yet, despite this, it's an unstable faction.

House is a businessman, 200 years old, and the sole ruler of New Vegas. He has a grand future for New Vegas and humanity, but he has questionable means of achieving this goal.

I don't think you understand what one dimensional means. Khans, Powder Gangers, Legion, Boomers, are all factions you can interact with and shape them. They have histories, and you could even roleplay as them. Fallout 4 and 3 have 1 dimensional factions (Talon Company, Gunners, Raiders). Also, you have to keep in mind, people don't imagine the Boneyard or anywhere in the NCR as a fully rebuilt city/utopia of peace. They're living in ruins that have been reinforced with post-war concrete and other scraps. It's still a shithole, to current day comparisons, but with people living in the ruins. The main thing is it isn't really that plausible a scenario. Individual Followers of the Apocalypse travelling to the east coast, sure, but they wouldn't have any large presence (they don't have the resources for it). Any state-sponsored expedition by the NCR wouldn't happen, as it'd be too expensive, risky, and too much politics involved (like which Caravan Company bribed which Senator to use state and army resources to find an exclusive market? Veto that shit!). It's more probable that individual Caravan companies would sponsor expeditions (as the reward could be exclusive markets and undiscovered commodities), although the risk would be high and the rate of success might be too low. Individual scouts, prospectors, and mappers would be travelling around more first.

Also, the main eastern routes for the NCR would be the I-10 and the I-40 corridor, and those are both deep into Legion domain. Even if the events of NV are a full on NCR victory, the Legion is the only unifying culture the Four Corners region knows; they would put up resistance if the NCR goes barging in; they'd have Flagstaff/Phoenix/Yuma at best, pushing east into the Malpais of western New Mexico would keep the NCR in a long-term war, something they'd be tired of even with a full victory at Vegas/Hoover. They still need to clear the desert and raiders/tribals of eastern Nevada to use the I-80 route (which is also a long road in unexplored wilderness), and the I-70 corridor through Colorado is probably impassible in the high country.

Politics and geography both are against the idea of an NCR expedition, beyond a few resourceful travellers; as I've said cross-continental travel is not impossible, as familes have been known to make the journey, but it is just that, a potentially year-long journey or longer, and there is any number of hazards, obstacles, and threats along the way. NCR as a state has way more fish to fry in their own region to devote resources to the east coast.

Yes, but when was the ending of Tactics? Something like the 2190s? It's been almost a century, anything could've happened at this point in the Midwest. Considering Lyon's original objective for his exodus was locating their ancient brothers, and he missed them, I don't think the BoS chapters in the Midwest are that prominent or widespread. Caesar mentions capturing BoS members who would obviously be descendants of the MW chapter, so BoS are around but they are more likely splintered in semi-isolated self-sufficient locations (which also promotes the idea of the Great Plains being shitty to cross with severe radioactive dust storms). I'm sure there are some prominent BoS factions around there (I'd assume western Illinois, Iowa, and northern Missouri would be their most dominant region), but you can't assume that they would prevent or hinder any continental expeditions.

Main thing would be if any California BoS Chapters that were exiled after the war with NCR got in touch with them and integrated (although the culture difference between the classic BoS and the MW chapter would be quite the schism). I think Chicago would be a great location for the next mainline game, but it ain't gonna happen.

Due to the toxic rivers of The Pitt(represented by the green lines) which glow at rad counts higher then even that of the Glowing sea, or Vault 87's main entrance, along with other natural barriers like the Appalachian mountains, there are really only two means to reach the east.

You either have to
A. Go all the way through the unexplored south, and then walk up most of the east coast until you reach D.C.

B. Trek through the MWBoS's territory, then then keep going until you reach The Pitt(which is the only known place one can cross the toxic rivers of The Pitt

Either way, its not going to be a fun trek.

I'm sick of this fucking meme that the only "development" in the Post-War world comes from metropolitan regions. It's biased bullshit from modern city-dwellers, and it has no precedent in the Fallout Universe. The most prolific and prosperous settlements shown in the Fallout Universe are probably The Hub, Shady Sands, Vault City, and Arroyo. Except for the Hub, which was settled in a pre-war city of relatively small size (and had a reliable resource availible), these are all built-fresh cities using a GECK.

Giant metropolitan regions, while having advantages like more population to begin with, and a higher percentage of finding useful pre-war tech and salvage, have so many negatives to rebuilding civilization. They would be places hit the hardest (Salt Lake City took 13 nukes for christ's sake, how many you think Dallas would take?), and the larger populations would mean more suffering survivors in the dark years, so that would be more raiding, slaving, cannabalism, and general human (and now ghoul and mutant) fuckery. The only benefit from big cities is more vault potential, survivors coming out of Vaults, but even then the rate of actual control vaults, and those with GECKs, are variable at best. I would assume a town like El Paso or Amarillo would be more developed by 2280s than Dallas would (sure there might be sophisticated facilities partially restored, but in general it would be a ruined shithole of competing scavengers and other threats lurking in the ruins for their next score).

Well, to be fair, Denver, Philly, NYC, Tuscon, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City didn't develop much of shit.

Hell, Vegas itself didn't develop shit until a mere 7 years before New Vegas began, and only because House released a large number of securotorons to rebuilt it fast.

As much as rural areas didn't develop, most major population centers didn't either.
