Is TF2 worth playing these days? I have never played it in my life and after a bout of boredom I installed it.

It looks kinda fun but compared to Overwatch for example it is extremely grey and pale. I am installing ReShade to get rid of this issue.

Yea, trust me. I'm a silver border with a little star. I don't know how many levels that is but I've played since beta and quit a few months ago to return back to TF2.

Overwatch is extremely linear in its gameplay. It's all ult oriented and it gets extremely dull after a while. Tf2 is just mostly about how well you can shoot your target. Everything else comes from learning the class. It's not handed to you with shitty moba skills. Every class has a learning curve and it's enjoyable to actually put time into each class.

I have only played Overwatch for 30 hours so far, on and off because it tends to get dull etc. I usually play Battlefield quite a lot but now that BF1 is not that enjoyable I started to look for online game where I can reasonably sink more hours than what is healthy. I think I'm going to play TF2 for a while and see where it goes.

One thing which is funny that even after all these years in dev TF2 reminds me of that Quake 2 mod.. I remember originally waiting for the first release of TF2 back in early 1999 but then it always got delayed and delayed.

How playable game is with normal console controller? I tend to have wrist issues from time to time and controller is great for alleviating that issue. Do we have slight auto-aim if I use controller in TF2 or is it completely unadjusted aiming?

You can get regular weapon unlocks just by playing the game and completing achievements, but the stock weapons are better nine times out of ten. Also they are ridicolously overpriced in the store, avoid buying anything from it
You can play on any map you want, there are no restrictions, the only problem is finding servers with people on them. If a server has a custom map, you'll automatically download it when connecting to it, so don't worry about that
I suggest playing the tutorials before jumpng in a match, it seems like you're not used to arena-inspired shooters so having an idea of what to expect is recommended

Red tape slowly downgrades the building it's on as well as disabling it. It does no damage.
Stock sapper slowly damages the building it's on as well as disabling it. It does not downgrade the building.

Downgrade is very useful on Dispensers as last I checked it resets the metal reserves as soon as it goes down a level. Downgrade also takes goddamn forever to destroy a sentry alone, even a mini. Engineer can't place a second sentry as long as his first one is still up, even if it is being sapped. He can't autodestroy it either.
Damage is very useful if your friends are also shooting the sentry.

If you're at the point where the engi is down, stuff sapped and no enemies are around you can bring out your amby and just shoot the buildings. Disabling slowly also has the added benefit of the engi coming back through the teleporter once he respawns and getting killed again.
